I'm not sure if it is a remake, but it doesn't really matter. All I know is that it's Denzel killing people, possibly with a hammer. You can't go wrong with a movie about Denzel killing people.

Well, trailers often use music not in the score the movie uses so there is a chance that crappy pop song won't be heard in the movie.

Never even heard of the old series myself. Sadly their already is a sequel in development so that nixes the likelihood the main character gets to enjoy a good death.

The original TV show was about a spy who got sick of the department incompetence and bad judgment and quit, but took on projects for the "little guy" on the street using the skills from his days with the agency. Sort of a midway point between Callan and Burn Notice. (German title translates back as "Guardian Angel of New York). Edward Woodward was brilliant and believable as a washed up spy (memories of Callan?). Jeffery Donovan is believable as a former child stalker.

This looks more like a vigilante action movie trying to capture some name recognition without having any actual association with the original idea. (kinda like JJA Trek, Transformers, A-Team, Bionic Woman, Beauty and the Beast, etc)
