"Ah, Dangermouse..."

I really liked the 1e kenku, back when they couldn't speak. I had a really successful kenku assassin tracking the PCs for a while. They're tremendous fun.
 

Yeah. For my money, the kenku would have to be the right hand man of a Bullywug crimelord. (This dovetails nicely with my idea for a bullywug pirate ship called Kermit's Revenge. The first mate is a bugbear bard.)

lol! I haven't played that game in maybe 10 years, and yet sadly, I think I can picture that exact room... (It had a door at both the N and S ends.)

yep :) and every time you rested, there would be another group of kenku waiting behind the south door :)
