The fallback

So do I.

I should have said; "A night out with friends drinking gin. Or maybe a nice Scotch, when the weather's cold."

LOL

But what about a game you would play if you were to play a game besides D+D?

Wait, drinking games don't count. ;)

Here's my 'emergency hierarchy' following my 'main' campaign, which uses Grim Tales...

1. D&D
2. D20 Modern
3. Star Wars D20
4. CODA Lord of the Rings
5. 'What would beat a fish?'*

*(Not an RPG, but more of a word game)

I only rank D&D higher than Star Wars and Modern because it's easier to just pick up and make it up as you go along. LOTR is behind all three because character creation is relatively long, and requires near constant book-use until the character is done.

Now, as for 'What wouild beat a fish?', I'll explain how the game works if anybody wants to know.

OK, more soberly this time...

d20 Modern (We've got one game on a long hiatus, and I'm itching to start another. The concept? Josie and the Pussycats meets Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie meets The Invisibles)

M&M (Another campaign on hold for now...)

Then Risk, pool in smoky bars, and every once in a long while, a nice game of chess.

Fallbacks:

1) Whatever someone else is willing to DM.

2) Something with lots of plastic and/or crayons: Risk, Your Continent Here Rails, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, etc.

Yeah, but I am looking for a preference. :)

Well, if I could play the game I perfered it wouldn't be D&D, it'd be Thieves World. But I don't get to play what I perfer, I get to play what other people like.

World Tree, then Nobilis, probably. Assuming other d20 games aren't an option because WoT is pretty neat too.

I'm not picky, really. D&D is probably my favorite, but I'll play just about anything.
