First Post
My GM has been setting up fights in which few mobs few to none weaknesses. So fight have are long and seems like it could go either way. But at next level, I want to pick up phantasmal force, want needed some ideas on ways I could shake up the fight and keep my GM on his toes.

Great spell, should almost always be able to neutralize the target and deal a little damage (assuming a failed save). Illusion of a pit trap full of acid works vs. many creatures.

Excellent though when you can use it to sucker an opponent into an even more dangerous environmental hazard, like over a cliff.

When you encounter the monster, say something like "Based on my background as a Sage, I try to recall what the natural enemy of this monster is." Or words to that effect. Then see what the DM says. He or she may call for an Intelligence check. If you succeed and get a useful response, use phantasmal force to create said natural enemy and have it attack or try to scare away the monster.

I had planned to use phantasmal force to make another look like my team mate, this would be like crown Of madness but without the visible crown.

And if he says "it's at the top of the food chain, it has no natural enemies", have it be attacked by a duplicate of itself.
