The Fifth Element Returning to Theaters

I like the 5th Element!

We have a small, indie owned theater about ~10 minutes away. It has two screens. They show one new release and either an older film or independent film depending.

I think in that context it's good to be supportive as one is able.

Honestly, the way the movie biz goes, earning back double your production cost is pretty much the basic requirement for not being a flop...

This movie is so much better when seen (and, thanks to Diva Plavalaguna, heard) at the movie theater.

THE FIFTH ELEMENT is one of those movies, along with STARGAT,E that I saw in the theaters upon release and that bounced off of me like bullets off of Superman's chest. I never understood the appeal and never revisited those films. I'm glad that other people like them, though, and did see a few people cosplaying both as Leeloo and Ruby Rod over the years at New York Comic-Con.

The thing is that it is very... unapologetic, I guess. It is what it is, and it is a LOT of it. If that's your thing, you'll love it. If it's not, you'll hate it.
