I still feel that TSR3 thinks that Ernie Gygax has some form of legitimate "right" to TSR and the name Dungeons and Dragons, as crazy as it sounds, via his dead father. The issue is always that nobody has any serious legal proof or evidence supporting that IN THE SLIGHTEST, and Lanasa still doubles down on that ridiculous idea. Worse, anyone talking to Ernie knows that ERNIE also believes this crazy idea, and that he's been saying it on social media for some time now that WotC somehow "swindled" his family out of their birthright legacy. It's crazy. Wizards of the Coast doesn't even have anything to DO with Gary Gygax's legacy and wasn't even founded until 1990, six YEARS after Gary had long sold off all his shares in TSR Hobbies.... and Ernie is still trying to blame Wizards of the Coast instead of Lorraine Williams. It has echoes of the 2020 election, where people fervently insist Trump won in a landslide over his opponent even after 54 failed lawsuits to contest the election and no legitimate proof. It boils down to people thinking that if they can say "Yes!" one more time than people can say "No" that it means that they'll get what they want even if they were going to lose. It's a belief that you can wear down your opponent and get what you want even if you don't deserve it by exhausting them. I've heard it called the "Veruca Salt" line of argument. If you can wear daddy down, you can get anything you want whether you deserve it or not.... because you never, ever lose.
