Justin Lanasa strikes me as a bit of a gloater. As it is, the current philosophy is to try and get as much attention as possible, barring any actual evidence that would win his case. I'm sure at this point he thinks he can slap Wizards of the Coast for a "Let's settle this out of court and put an end to it. I figure 300K in my pocket for the DHSM should about do it!" - Look at how Lanasa tried shaking down Luke Gygax earlier in 2021. He didn't want anything from Luke except $5,000 and for Luke to pay for a shuttle to take people from GaryCon to the Dungeon Hobby Shop Museum. There wasn't anything in the cards for Luke per se, just Justin Lanasa wanting Luke to pay him $5,000 for the cost of doing business in Lake Geneva even though Luke's convention was going into it's 14th year and he didn't need Lanasa's help in the slightest. That's thug mentality. Justin is going to discover that Wizards isn't going to let him enjoy all this free publicity and prestige without teaching a lesson to all of the other RPG wannabes who may think it'd behoove them to sue WotC and then shake them down for an out-of-court settlement. WotC would look incredibly weak if someone like Lanasa can be so brazen and still soak them for an out of court settlement. Also (as a personal note) I don't believe for one second that if Justin Lanasa DID shake down WotC for an out of court settlement that he'd ever share any of the money with either Ernie or Dave Johnson. They may be his partners, but Lanasa seems like the stingy type. If he gets anything, Ernie and Dave are both getting nothing but celebratory pizza afterwards. Lanasa will keep any money for himself, mark my words. He doesn't respect Ernie enough to cut him in. Dave is a sniveling toadie, nothing more.
