Okay okay, all snark aside.... The Horticultural Hall is a really nice venue. A bit small, but the ivy and hardwood make it look really intimate and cozy. From their website, the space can accommodate up to 160 people, so it'll be a manageable sized crowd. And it has some good gamer history attached to it too, being the location of the first several GenCon events. All of that is good, IMO. Ticket prices of $10 each is a reasonable price too, but that alone might not be enough to cover the costs of the venue. They're probably expecting the crowd to turn over every 3-4 hours, or they are depending on vendors and sponsors to offset expenses. This is not a bad plan either. But no amount of good planning will save this event if they don't get their Public Relations under control. If they dig in their heels regarding their bigoted behavior, and if they continue to behave like children when presented with criticism, the event is doomed before it can even start. There is a lot of buzz on social media about this event, but the majority of it is extremely bad. They need to change that tone immediately if they want to pull this off.
