[QUOTE="Wincenworks, post: 9130905, member: 7038835"] At this point I'm pretty sure it's about trying to retain his claim to being linked "old school" games. He's had to move down to Florida to get a job, so he can no longer brag about Lake Geneva, visiting Ernie or Jim regularly, etc. Ernie and Jim both have serious health conditions which limit their ability to participate in things both because of the limitations and because Jim needs to focus on gigs that pay. Basically nuTSR is now the closest he can come to credibly setting himself apart from the 1,000s of amateur creators who have put out a product they think should have been better received. On top of that, his has basically every "beginner" and "not caring" red flag - too much money spent on art, not enough spent on game infrastructure, etc. On top of that, he has a miraculous talent to get to be introduced and rub shoulders with all kinds of interesting and influential people - then come away only having connections to the worst people in a group. This seems to be due to is rampant narcissism and tendency to view people in fields either as tools or competition, and to rather transparently talk naughty word about them behind their back and/or to their face. Basically if he doesn't hitch his horse to nuTSR he's going to be standing out there alone with a subpar claim to having an interesting product even among the "I had no idea what I was doing but I started a Kickstarter anyway!" crew.
