Lawyers, like doctors, don't usually have an option for a 40 hour work week. It's a frustrating part of the profession that doesn't make sense -- why can't so-and-so who has health issues/children/a sick parent/etc. work just 40 hours a week and only draw 1/2 the salary of the person who can do 80 hours -- that I know keeps plenty of otherwise qualified individuals out of the profession.</blockquote>
