It's been awhile; time for a few minor updates. Tom from Tabletop Taproom, aka @Jedion357, who first got involved in all this NuTSR madness because he's been a long time curator or Star Frontiers content, has posted what may be his final video on the topic: https://www.youtube.com/live/YZCexA-MZOs?si=I0vAuDL35jQENXCL The most important news is that Tom has removed almost all videos from his channel about NuTSR. He is returning his YouTube channel back to a gaming channel (primarily, but not entirely, focused on Star Frontiers). I am fully supportive of his decision. Moving on is healthy. Tom also shared a new piece of interesting info. As we have mentioned in the past, Justin Lanasa is currently going through a divorce. And in general it would be uncouth to go into the sordid details. However, one data point relevant to the NuTSR saga has been revealed in the filings. It has been reported that Justin lost approximately $400,000 in court cases and legal fees. It is a distinct possiblity that this is settlement money that Lanasa paid to WotC at the end of his legal case. It may also include Lanasa's own lawyers (~$100k based on other documents) and the lawyers fees he spent suing @tenkar and losing. On the real estate front, I can report that the 723 Williams St address is still up for sale, and is still owned by Lanasa's (soon to be ex) spouse. The current price is $450,000. Real estate documents show that the property was valued at $257,000 when ownership was transferred a couple months ago. Going way back, we know that Lanasa bought it for $175,000. Given the time and zoning changes, I'd guess the $257,000 price is pretty fair, and probably not far off from what the house will eventually sell for unless other changes are made. I don't expect many other updates in the near future. I've been keeping a passive eye on things, but it's been awhile since anything interesting has popped up. There have been some rumors that Lanasa may have committed tax fraud or missapropriated COVID funds that may be related to NuTSR at some point. But I haven't seen any formal legal action yet, and there's a good chance we never will.
