I backed it. It is interesting reading the comments on the Kickstarter page. Other people saying they didn't know about it until they read about it on the Paizo or other TTRPG form. The creators stated that they didn't spend a lot on advertising but have been posting on various socials. I think that there are is a segment of folks like me who had enough of social media over the past few years and just are not on (or spending much less attention to) Twitter, Facebook, etc.

I wonder if advertising on Twitter, Facebook, etc. is becoming less effective or if I'm just projecting when I think there has been an exodus from the major social media site. It could also be that there is more of a fracturing.

It seems the best way to get the word out to the type of people who would back this would be to get YouTube content creators in the TTRPG space to talk about it. But I don't think many of them would want to be giving free advertising and it seems that the creators of this Kickstarter don't have or want to spend the money to advertise.

I'm also kinda surprised that as a backer of Journey Quest 4 that there was no update about this new Kickstarter posted there.

This Kickstarter is being run outside of the usual Zombie Orpheus channels, so they can't use things like the previous backer lists to get the word out. That definitely limits the scope that they can reach and social media becomes the next best tool.

The issue with using social media, however, is that platforms like Facebook throttle how many people you can reach, unless you pay to advertise. Lately I've found that even posts by my actual friends don't show up in my Facebook feed for days, if at all.

All of this is why I've said, a couple of times, that the campaign needs to be shared. It's good practice for any Kickstarter but particularly important for ones like this, that don't have the use of the pre-existing network that's been built for this property over the last 20+ years.Folks like me are trying to fill that void as best we can.

For several years now I have checked in on the Zombie Orpheus scene every few months primarily just to see if literally this exact project was ever happening. I totally would have missed it if you didn't post it here (and in the same week I logged back in for the first time in most of a year). Well done.
