The Golden Raspberries -- Snakes On a Plane was robbed!

They announced the nominations for the Golden Raspberries yesterday. You'll be glad to know that Uwe Boll got a well-deserved nomination for Worst Director. The most nominated films were Basic Instinct 2 and Little Man, with seven nods each. Both are up for Worst Picture, along with Lady In the Water, BloodRayne, and The Wicker Man.

They've included a new category: Worst Excuse for Family Entertainment. The nominees are Deck the Halls, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, RV, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, and The Shaggy Dog.

I'm glad to see Little Man get what it deserves, but how did Snakes on a Plane not get any nominations at all?!

Snakes on a Plane was fun. And you certainly can't claim you didn't know what you were in for. If ever there was a movie that delivered what it promised, that was it

And I really liked Lady in the Water. You have to really look at it as a kid's movie, though. I think if I'd seen it when I was 10, it would have been one of my all-time favorites.

Either that, or look at it as a movie that is in part about stories. Look a bit beyond the primary action, and all that...

Yeah- I think the Golden Raspberries are for movies that are unintentionally funny/stupid/stinkers. Snakes on a Plane went in knowing what it was, what it was going for, who it was marketing to, and it accomplished them pretty well.

I actually liked it, and went in expecting it to be godawful. It won't be winning any Academy Awards (snubbed at the Oscars!), but it is actually a really fun, mindless movie.

It lived up to its hype? :)
It's still a worst film. It deserves the noteriety for which it is intended.

Who says that the worst film has to be made unintentionally?

Is Uwe Boll up for the Worst Director award because he's still in denial?

Snakes On A Plane is the one film that deserved not to be nominated. It was pure popcorn film, and it knew it, and ended up being even better than the low expectations most people had for it.
