The Grand To-Do List

I'm in the middle of achieving one of my major 3E goals...playing a 3E version of my namesake character - Thurbane the Evoker - right from 1st level. We've finished Scourge of the Howling Horde, and a little way into Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde. Thurbane has just hit 3rd level. The plan at the moment is to finish SGoS, and then run the same characters through Expedition to Castle Greyhawk under another DM in our group.

My "build" at the moment is to get into Loremaster PrC as early as possible, then on to Archmage after that...

Since my primary group isn't planning on changing editions, I've still got time to achieve some other goals, too.

Would you mind posting this up in the House Rules forum? I'd love to take a gander at it.
It's still very incomplete and the DM has been playing it by feel. I hope to finish it over Christmas Break.

I will however give you a brief overview.

  • A blast similar to that of the Warlock.
  • Power Point system for the use of tech 'spells'
  • Bonus feats used for technomancy creation which includes personal modification of the technomancer's body.

Not D&D per se, but there are lots of games I wanted to play and didn't laterly...

* A Blue Rose campaign, against the vile empire and tyrranical undead king.

* An Iron Heroes campaign set in Midnight, starting with the introductory adventure and culminating at level 20+ with defeating the Night Kings and perhaps even destroying the remnants of Izrador's priests around his grave. Did some major work on this, but I've put it on hold as I'm waiting for 4e.

* A D&D 3.5 campaign level 1 to 20. In the midst of that.

* A Nobilis game.

* A long-enduring Ars Magica campaign. Trying to start one online right now.

I got to play a gestalt character - that was great.

If I had a wish before 4e comes out, it would be that I got to game every week between now and next summer! Sadly, that's looking unlikely.

I had a 11th level Cleric that got killed off - I'd like another shot at playing a high level Cleric with a steady group, growing to understand each other and our tactics.

While I DM mostly, my list is only from things I'd like to do as a player. As a DM I get to do what I wish. :)

There are a number of classes I have yet to play (like Artificer), but my top goal is to play a character above sixth level. In my four years since returning to D&D, I've yet to play anything higher than that...the campaigns always fizzle out. Now I've run a campaign up to the 12th-13th level, but I'd like to have my own PC in that range at least once.

  • Finish Age of Worms
  • Play or run Pathfinder
  • E6
  • Do another online play by post game
  • Play or run a campaign or two in Ptolus
  • Play or run Red Hand of Doom
  • Play or run Savage Tide

And probably in that order, although some of them coexist.

Character concepts:
  • Ignatius T. Thwockpaddle, a pistol-packing gnome conjurer out for revenge for his dead familiar
  • Play a female character (I mean, really, if I can play different races like a cannibal orc, a dark elf with mommy issues, and a human p.i., I really ought to be able to cross over the gender divide)
  • Play someone's familiar or cohort, just to see if the sidekick's role is viable
