3edD&D is the revised Holmes edition. i would choose that over 3.11ed for Workgroups any day of the week. drunk. having not slept in a week. i would still play any other edition before i would play d02.

I've stuck with 3E and have no plans to upgrade to 3.5E. Consider I maybe play once or twice a month at most, and my campaign that started in 2000 contains a group of 5th level PCs (can you tell we don't play often?), I just can't justify buying new sourcebooks (and frankly, I can't be bothered to print off the SRD and note changes -- that's effort that can be better used elsewhere ;)).

So I guess it's mainly a monetary reason I've stuck with 3E. I've got players that play 3E with my group and then have to dig out 3.5E when they go to other groups they play in. I'm sure that causes a bit of trouble for them, which is unfortunate.

3.5e

The only time I crack the 3.0e books is to clarify the exact nature of the changes. The changes to the Ranger, assorted spells, and so forth all seem necessary and welcome. I have a hard enough time trying to run a game out of the 30+ D&D books I have, let alone trying to use two different versions of the core rules!

In my world there are sorrows
That I'd rather drown in happiness
Come the morning When the darkness' through
That story's bound to change

And in my world and in my world
It's all the same
And nothing's ventured Nothing's changed
And nothing's lost and nothing's gained

Turn up the T.V. Make the music loud
Better to ignore the rabid dog baying at your door
Draw the blind Change the channel if you dare
Better to say I don't care

Go and jump aboard the train of freedom
It's a one-way fare
You even find that when the tunnel's through
Your ticket's vanished forgotten you

You hear the bell You know it's time to jump off
'Cause there's nothing at the platform's edge again
It's too late
It's over to you
