The Grinning Frog
Game Publishers
Hey everyone Frog overlord here,
With 2025 coming to an end we thought it would be a good time to recap this year and discuss some of our future plans. If you've read our previous posts you'll know that we mostly come on here to promote our current campaigns but I also think it's good to step back and give a more detailed insight into how our games and the Frog as a whole are created.
A 2025 recap
This year was easily our biggest and subsequently most busiest which we are extremely grateful for so a big thank you to everyone who has supported us. In terms of production we have produced 12 campaigns which are spread across The Grinning Frog & The Oracle kickstarter pages + one on Gamefound. (breakdown below) At the beginning of the year we honestly only had two goals - One to grow the Frog and the other to support our established franchise and explore/create new types of games which I'm happy to say that for the most part we have accomplished that.
On top of everything else this year has been a huge learning experience, we're still an underdog in this market with only 5 years under are belt every campaign is a chance to improve on the last and we like to think that our although short experience is really starting to show itself with improvements in both our games quality and the overall design of both the cards & rulebooks.
The Grinning Frog Kickstarter
This is our first time on Gamefound and definitely plan to go back soon but more on that later.
So what does 2026 hold for us?
Now I know everyone says this but we believe this year will be some of our best work. With 2025 being so strong this has allowed us to look into expanding the scale of every campaign meaning boxes, miniatures and really nice looking adds on such as fancy tokens or cool looking dice are something we can now do more consistently. In fact I can confirm we are actually in the process of developing our first boardgame which will feature custom exclusive miniatures and a game mat which is extremely exciting for us!
This also means long running titles such as Zilight and Starship scavengers will get a bump in production value so look out the FROG empire is not looking to slow down!
As much as I can't say specifically what projects we have planned all of us in the office are avid gamers (Which is kind of a prerequisite for this job) and because of that we are always looking to create both new titles and different types of games such as the boardgame previously mentioned. So if your a fan of the Frog know we are going to keep you well fed this year!
We hope your as excited for the new year as us but until then we have one campaign ready to go so ready your dice and join the roman legions to face off against the worlds most feared threat the UNDEAD... Zilight: Pax Romana! (Releasing early November!)

The Grinning Frog Kickstarter
- Zilight Wild West - Our zombie franchise each game set in a new time period (There is nothing greater than Cowboys vs Zombies)
- Starships Scavengers: Pyramids of Infinity - A Scifi RPG adventure, every edition you find yourself in starship, station or alien world in which you must scavenge & survive!
- Rage at the Moon - The first Interactive fiction gamebook we've created. (PS - Not the last)
- Starship Scavengers: Gorgon's Wake - Discovering an alien craft you head inside to explore its depths only to find it may not be as derelict as you thought...
- Cowboys Vs Zombies pocket club - Our pocket club membership where for the next year we will release 13 unqiue mini games around 20 cards big. Each one will be based in a different setting and genre. If you want something quick and easy to play this is perfect for just that.
- Final Quest 2 - Technically our first direct sequel that continues the story of the first game (As of writing we are currently in the fullfillment process)
- Starship Scavengers: The Case of the Asteriod Blues - Definitely the biggest campaign we've done with a brand new starships box, revamped card layout and an exclusive pocket game along with tokens, postcards and our Heinlien system map; altogether this totals to close to 200 pages worth of game material.
- Star Marshal - This kickstarter just ended as of three days ago but is our newest IP solo card game. A gritty scifi RPG adventure that uses a gamebook and a full deck of custom cards. We absolutely plan to produce more of these adventures in the future.
- Issue #49: Dangerous and Dark Orcs - As you can guess this is about Orcs: Tribes, rituals, NPCs and various roleplaying scenarios.
- Issue #50: Lost places - Mysterious locations that have been lost and/or abandoned through time this issues provides both lore and RPG scenarios. All system neutral making it easy to slot into any active campaign you might have.
- Issue #51: Witches and Witch hunters - Black cats, cauldrons and magic spells. Witches are cool and we'll forever stand by that.
This is our first time on Gamefound and definitely plan to go back soon but more on that later.
- Sinners - Brand new solo card game set in a dark fantasy world where you head into the dreaded Tower, a place of misery that holds the most evil of criminals.
