The Heretic of Wyre

Why take out everyone *except* the leader? My theory is this:

People kind of expect lackeys to be cowards. Brey, however, is a powerful man, an arrogant man, a fearless man - that's the impression I get, anyway. (Well, he's not entirely fearless, but he's passed himself off as such.)

And Nwm sent him running with his tail between his legs. That's quite likely to shake the Curia a bit.

Nwm is Lawful Good to. It seems that all the characters are undergoing paradigm shifts. First Eadric, then Nehael, now Nwm.
Mostin will probably be converting to Orthdox Oronthonianism by the time Sep's campaign finishes up.

Note #1: Spanish Inquisition wasn't good, but at least we didn't kill almost all American Natives in our colonies like other people, we married them and now most of the population has mixed heritage... So before beginning a historic debate, look yourselves at the mirror.

Note #2: Holland was part of Spain in that era, a part that wanted independence. The Inquisition act was a political act as much as a religious one.

Note #3: Great update, as always...

Horacio, Spaniard living in France

Note #1: Political discussions aren't allowed on this board. You should've known better than to start a discussion like this on a friggin' STORY HOUR. The comparison to the Spanish Inquisition came about because the Story Hour is ABOUT an Inquisition in the campaign. That's the ONLY reason it was mentioned. Not to bash the Spanish, and not to start a debate.

Note #2: Excuse me?!? So I guess you never heard of the CONQUISTADORS, huh? I won't whitewash American history so long as you don't white-wash Spanish history. What the other colonial powers did was NO worse than what the Spanish did in the Carribean, Central America, and South America.

O.K., my bad then.
But I hate when people begin to speak about the Spanish Inquisition.
It's at least as incorrect and political as my post, sorry.

It would go even farther in the political spiral...
So maybe we should stop here.

I apologise, if you want, but comparing a 'real' Spanish Inquisition with a Story Hour Inquisition is political and of bad taste. As my post, maybe, but it doesn't change it.

Huh, well.

I would have rather killed Brey too. But rather in a duel.

As for the politics: guys, it's hard not to talk about politics when we compare storyhours to the past. But let's stick to the facts as far as we know them.

Just remember: It was war. Every political party in a war has blood on their hands. Some more, some less and you can seldom say who is who centuries later. Winners write history.

Btw: Historical question: Didn't the conquistadores only pour oil into the war between Native American nations and collect the spoils?

Uh, back to Storyhour: Sep, I like that mages council thing very much. There have been many discussions about how magic interferes with medieval warfare in low and high magic worlds... Your solution is simple and elegant. Grats!

As for Ortwin... That goblin got gnome relatives :)?

Historical answer: yes and not.
There were literally hundreds of Native American nations, hundreds of wars and hundreds of conquistadores. Some of the later were cold blood killers, some other true saints. Some of them killed all Native American they saw. Others fueled NativeAmerican wars to kill them indirectly. But many others weren't like that.

Historical precision: Spanish Inquisition didn't burned nobody. Never. They weren't allowed to kill. They condemned people, and civil authorities killed them. They could torturate, they could condemn to death, but they didn't kill. They couldn't. Civil authorities killed. A minor precision. But true.

So Sepulchrave's Inquisition isn't like Spanish Inquisition. ;)

Gosh...all this over a succubus...I wonder how Nahael feels about all this.

Nahael probably feels horrible, but she's really just a pawn of Orothon (sp?). Big mean good god using such a sweet demon as his catalyst :D

(First time reader, spent all day yesterday reading. Incredible story. I love seeing how a high powered campaign is run)

Agreed. Let's just drop the whole Spanish Inquisition, Conquistadors, etc and stick to discussing the events of the STORY HOUR, and nothing else. Would that be alright with everybody (I'm including myself in that. That's why political discussions suck, because someone says something, then someone else feels the need to retort, then someone else feels they need to make a retort to the retort, etc. It's a neverending domino effect)? Don't need to ruin Sepulchrave's thread with discussions like that.
