The Heretic of Wyre

And why would she (or you) prefer Oronthon worship, rather than into the old religion?

A) Because she used to be a Celestial in the service of Oronthon.

B) Because one of Oronthon's Celestials invited her back, but why would she get back in if she's now a worshipper of the old religion? Can't have a Celestial in your service who's dedicated to another deity.

C) Because Eadric put so much effort into bringing her back, only for her to be snatched into the old religion at a moments notice. Eadric puts all this effort into redeeming her, only for Nwm to just swoop in and cast Atonement, and BOOM! Wasted all of Eadrics efforts.

D) Eadric was disappointed. I'm sympathetic towards Eadric, therefore I'm disappointed, too.

and don't forget the usefulness of animal companions for guerilla wars. even birds can easily steal or spoil the food at night in an army camp.

yeah or monkeys!:D

Interesting thing about the story and maybe Sep. needs to answer. Green Knight has a good question. However, Rintrah did say she was forgiven, so she has atoned and it was accepted even though she is a follower of the Goddess.

In the campaign world, is there only one god? could the Goddess be an aspect?

There are no theological certainties in the campaign world. The Reconciliatory Sophists believe that the Goddess is an aspect of Oronthon, immanent in the world. Orthodoxy denies it, and so would Nwm.

On another note entirely, I'm starting to update the Character thread which can be found

here

I'll add the Fiends, the Celestials and other NPCs in due course.

So four more posts and you're caught up?

More like ten, probably. Sigh.

Sep, I hope your submitting to WOTC's contest, I'd love books based in your world. I'd be a campign sourcebook for Wyre

While I am submitting my campaign world, I would not mind at all loosing out to Sep. I'd be such a good sport about it I'd buy everything produced for Wyre.

*Someone on these boards, long ago, proposed a quantum theory of magic in order to address the ‘Vancian’ problem. Spell levels are analogous to the quantum shells occupied by electrons orbiting the nucleus of an atom, in that they can only have discrete numbers (1,2, etc.). This is a simple, elegant, wonderful idea. Whoever you are, I am indebted to you.

Sep, if you (or anyone else) have any details about this theory, I'd like to check it out.

Thanks again for another fun update! :-)

aye druids would be nasty in a long battle/war, espically with things like a cobination of control weather and call lighting, as well as doing things like using stone shape and engineers to set up triggerable avalanches *thinks of the third book of the defenders of magic(?) trilogy from Dragonlance*

and I third that this would be neat to see made into a campaign world/novels :)

I love this Story Hour. But I hope Sep publishes Wyre through a smaller company than WotC, since I want things NOW and not years down the road.:D

Hmmm...... story almost off the front page, can't let that happen.

Very good story by the way.

And I would definitely want to get my hands on your campain :D
