Tam feels something dread and thrilling coursing through skin, nerves and mind. It was like having viscous lightning pour on and in one's body. He notices the sensation starting at his boot scabbard where he had tucked away (and quickly forgotten) the magically inscribed dagger 🗡. Tam, in future tellings of the tale, would swear that it was somehow 'talking' to him. He knew, too, that it was asking permission to take control --- of him. Tam couldn't help but flinch at the prospect of not having control of his own actions; and yet, these aberrant sphinxes had had no problem doing just that a mere minute or two ago. But, like their spell, would the entity in the scabbard release him to his own self once it fulfilled the purpose it was crying out to perform. And, also... Tam's inherent, and insatiable, Halfling curiosity just had to know what it was like to be under control of a magical item that was obviously either sentient, or was itself possessed, or... "Or nothing, you silly ass." he admonishes himself, "Experience everything! That's what you vowed when you first set out to find adventure. And when you met Respen's Raiders, or Lathir's Lost Boys, or Dewydd's Dudes, or whatever the party's name was agreed upon, adventure is exactly what you have found...in Aces." So... With a deep breath, and filled with a modicum of trepidation, Tam let's the sensations take hold of him and releases himself to the will of the dagger 🗡.
