I find it amazing that you can trace back your family like that. My grandmothers family (Ludewig's) emigrated in 1844 under Prince Carl of Germany. He was hoping to claim Texas as a German province, but the next year the US acquired Texas. Too many records were destroyed in WW2 and when my grandmother took a trip years ago to try and find any remaining family she could find nothing. The Brenner side of my family is also German (my other grandmother). The Brenner homestead still exists and there are even still Brenner's living in it. Next time I go to Germany, I am going to make a point to visit it. My one grandpa's family is predominately from Denmark, and my other grandpa we're not sure about. We know his grandmother was Cherokee, then there is some German and we believe English. Hs grandfather just kind of appeared out of nowhere and married his grandmother. He had a thick English accent, was extremely well educated, and refused to speak about where he came from or any family he had. For my biological father's side it goes back (records wise) to the late 15th century in Northern England, west of York in fact. My familiy came to America sometime between 1630 and 1650 and stayed in Massachusets.
