The Rerisen Tower: Day 1, Hour 3, Minute 22 As Earth stows the golden-bough plank, there is some shouting and commotion outside, but it's hard to tell exactly what's going on from inside the cabin. As members of the group look outside, it appears there is chaos on the dock. Sergeant Rump and his guardsmen are holding back a mob armed with torches and clubs. When Rump glances back and sees heads peeking out of the crew cabin, he shouts out, "looks like someone leaked about the murders and the gold both, could you deputies... hey! The ship is moving!" Sure enough, the ship is slowly moving away from the dock with the tide, somehow free from its moorings! [GM]Time for a skill challenge. Your initial objective is: A) get off the ships before it leaves the dock(appropriate skills DC 16), individual success gets you off the ship or B) work as a group to somehow stop the ship from being swept away with the tide(appropriate skills DC 18), 4 successes needed before 3 failures, C) Stay on the ship and try to get it under control and sail it back to the dock(appropriate skills DC 16), 8 successes needed before 3 failures. Everyone makes 1 assist or skill check each round. DCs will likely get harder as rounds go on however as the ship is swept further out to sea, so too many assist may make things worse rather than better... As usual, 4e's skills are somewhat limited. Use whatever skill seems the most appropriate for what you're trying to do. This will also serve as a roll-call to see who is still here. The first round of the skill challenge will end 2 days or so after half of the group have posted or when the entire group posts, whichever comes first.
