Any suggestions as to what The Jabberwock's motivation(s) is/are? Is it intelligent, or just a mindless ravager? Is it a deity, can it be worshipped? Is it one of the first dragons, cursed by the gods and transformed? Does it love riddles and poetry, having a love for bards and music? (Maybe singing to a Jabberwock is the ultimate acheivement for a bard, like an eladrin knight slaying it.) In PF/3E, the Jabberwock could maybe be weakened if a character were to make a great performance check against it, singing, dancing, etc. Is it evil, good, chaotic neutral?

It favours hanging out on street corners, and likes to adorn itself in designer tracksuits, gold medallions and baseball caps.

No, wait, that's the Chavverwock.

"'Tis brillig, innit?"

I can't remember if the Jabberwock ever appeared in the DungeonLand/Land Beyond the Magic Mirror series. I remember an old Dragon (around the 50-60 range) that stated it out.

Yep, Gary statted it out in EX1 Dungeonland.

If you're looking for some good minis, the Jabberwock from Ral Partha (as sculpted by Tom Meier) is a fun one to paint too!:

I should also mention the Jabberwock in Skirmisher Publishing's Adventures in Wonderland, for v.3.5.

I wanted to escape the obvious idea of it as a dragon, and so wrote it as a Native Outsider, CR 18. It's a mean, mean critter, and I look forward to the TPK's he brings to adventurers exploring Wonderland (and beyond!).

Pathfinder version coming soon!

James,
I'm just curious what a jabberwockychupacabras stats would be?
And would you hide from it?

Yes. I am of the opinion that chupacabras are a misnomer, and that they'll drink ANYone's blood... regardless of whether or not they're a goat, and regardless of how much additional burbling and whiffling the chupacabra is doing.

Better safe than sorry (and exsanguinated) is my motto.

The one I statted for 4E is long gone now with my computer falling over. I actually made it a really whacky monster, which actually had to be killed with a coup de grace with a bladed weapon or it would get back up. Not sure what I was thinking at the time now I think of it, but there you go. It was a level 19 solo skirmisher.

It really disappointed me in the recent Alice in Wonderland directed by Tim Burton that the characters referred to it as "the Jabberwocky".

Gack, don't they (Burton, Depp, etc.) know the difference between the name of the poem and the name of the creature?
