On impulse, I'll post here (in spoiler blocks for your sanity and so as not to take up massive amounts of space on the page for everyone) a copy-paste of my chat log from an OpenRPG D&D session late last year. This particular campaign was just a two-player game; me and Phadin (who plays Karil in my Rhunaria campaign, and played Korishi in my Oriental Adventures/Rokugan campaign) were the players (there was another player before I joined; I was invited to join in after that player had to leave the campaign for lack of time), and Devor (who plays Tai Yuko in my Rhunaria campaign, and previously played Snikliss in that campaign). For this big-city-homebrew campaign, I played Alazphraxion, a psuedodragon, while Phadin played the rest of the PCs. The game's on hiatus for now, since a few sessions after this one I'm posting, as Devor became too busy with real life stuff, and then so did I a few months later.
Might be interesting for some of you to see basically how some campaigns are run over OpenRPG. I'd just put the html file here as an attachment, but I don't want to annoy the DM of that campaign by leaving his standard server/room passwords and such there, as he mentions them to remind me early in that session. I don't have any html editing programs on my computer, so I can't just edit out those lines easily. Thus, this copy-paste won't have the text colors and formatting used in-game.....

(2533) Alazphraxion: "For the sake of my own loving of my NPCs, you may not have more than a +2 modifier in strength." Heheh.

(2532) Devor: Thanks.
(2532) Devor: I'm trying to make it so that it's good no matter what game I run.
(2533) Alazphraxion: The House Rules section seems clear enough, but I haven't read the Combat section yet
(2527) Tirian: Yeah, I noticed that.
(2533) Alazphraxion: I suppose Alazphraxion will need a Craft skill, a Perform skill, and a Profession skill?

** (2533) Alazphraxion thought about it and considered it unnecessary **
(2532) Devor: Well, it's mostly to get you thinking about your character style/background.
(2527) Tirian: Dev, I assume the Str limitation you put in there is only effective at level 1? Some characters might raise their strength with stat boosts at level 4, 8, ect.
** (2533) Alazphraxion doesn't figure the psuedodragon really needs nor wants to make stuff or sing, let alone would anyone want the critter wailing telepathic music **
(2532) Devor: If they'd like to, they can talk with me about it.
(2532) Devor: I won't put that in there, though. That rule has gotten so many players on my back, that I won't emphasize it any more than I need to.
(2533) Alazphraxion: Hrum......on the other hand, I notice that I do have Knowledge (Local) with only a few ranks.......might be nice to boost it with free ranks or something
(2532) Devor: And it doesn't take racial bonuses into account, either.
(2532) Devor: So a lvl 8 Ogre could have a high str. But that's all in character.
** (2533) Alazphraxion decides "Naah" again, considering that Alazphraxion is only 3 years old anyway **
** (2533) Alazphraxion should stop musing out loud. Blasted pseudodragon telepathy. **
(2532) Devor: Okay, we'll start at 3 p.m. est. (so 17 minutes, Ark).
(2527) Tirian: ok
** (2533) Alazphraxion is ready now anyway **
(2533) Alazphraxion: Checking text color.......
(2533) Alazphraxion: Checking.....
** (2533) Alazphraxion can't recall which one he's been using **
(2532) Devor: Okay, I'm making a room.
(2532) Devor: I still need to name this game.
(2532) Devor: Any ideas?
(2527) Tirian: No clue, Dev, honestly no clue.
(2532) Devor: All right.

(2532) Devor: ----------------------------------------STARTING
[/sblock]
[sblock](2532) : Her wings continue to twitch.
(2532) : Killboraen calls up behind you, "What happened?! Is everything all right?!"
(2532) : He sounds almost paniced, still clueless to what's going on in front of you, Alazphraxion.
** (2533) Alazphraxion is panicking **
(2527) Tirian: "we caught the intruder." he replies to Killborean.
(2527) Harien: "we caught the intruder." he replies to Killborean.
(2532) : Blood seeps out from her back where the knife still rests, near what would be the spine of a human. The tip of her tail has begun to curl - involuntarily curl - as she lies mute, shallow-faced, and bloody on the ground.
(2527) Harein: ((???))
(2527) Harein: ((I don't recall her ever getting stabbed.))
** (2533) Alazphraxion starts frantically looking around for whoever stabbed Tillabelas, hissing loudly **
(2527) Harein: ((we had the lizard down and unconious as I recall))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((found her with a knife in her chest))
(2532) : ((It was the last line of the last game, she screamed and Alazphraxion went into the room to find her stabbed))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((we were getting ready to leave, and she went to a room to get something, then we heard a scream((
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((Tillabelas smiles, "All right . . . . let me fetch the blueprints."))
(2532) : ((cue: Dramatic music.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: (She glides into the air funnel and into the next room.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((. . . . and within seconds, you can hear her screaming in pain))
(2527) Harein: ((oh. I forgot that. A short recap of the last game before a new session would kinda help

))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((Her voice comes with a sudden, loud, high-pitch screech, echoing through the tunnel, until it vibrates through the 1st floor even louder than she screamed.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((As you arrive beside the table, near the basket where cubic engravings lay about with magical encurstings of her blueprints, lay the Tillabelas L'asandras, the Lillend, bleeding from the bosom, a blade poigniant from her back, her face expressionless, and her delicate wings behind her, twitching.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((this was just after she went up to Alaz's tiny room to check on him.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((there's a reason why I post a quick session-recap summary most of the time))
** (2533) Alazphraxion flutters about frantically and tries to find the killer **
(2527) Harein: "What is it now? It's not the lizard, who ELSE is in here now?"
** (2527) Harein heads over to the tube, but has no ability to pursue the sound any further up the house. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion gives up after a moment, flying over to Tillabelas and quickly pulling out a magic wand, while trying to see if she's still alive **
(2532) : There is no sign of movement besides yourself and the snakely shape on the floor. The green window was smashed an hour ago with the grappling hook, and the shards of glass lie around seemingly untouched on the floor. Tillabelas's fingers seem to clutch something, but you realize a second later it's only an empty bag where she kept the encrustings of her blueprints.
** (2533) Alazphraxion quickly realizes that he doesn't know how to check for signs of life when someone isn't moving **
(2532) : She continues to bleed, but the rate has slowed . . . . her blood circulation is dying.
** (2533) Alazphraxion uses his wand on the lillend, not sure if it cures dead. **
(2532) : [1d20] -> [12] = (12)
(2533) Alazphraxion: CSW [3d8+5] -> [2,3,3,5] = (13)
(2532) : [1d20] -> [2] = (2)
(2532) : [1d20] -> [2] = (2)
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((4 charges left))
** (2533) Alazphraxion stands worriedly by the lillend's head while tapping the wand on her shoulder and invoking its spell...... **
(2532) : Little flakes of blue shimmer outwards from your wand tip, flittering into the Lillend's leathery skin . . . . within moments, you begin to notice that the wound seems to worsen, or at least widen, before anything else. It begins to tear, and little crusts of thin, flakey, flat skin begin to shed and molt from around the wound . . . .
(2532) : Within seconds, the shedding spreads throughout the Lillend's body, itching up to the edge of where her wings begin and up to her humanous neck and front side . . . . all across the back, the layer of snake skin continues to shed, leaving beneath it a tender, prematurely exposed layer of skin, centered around the wound . . . . which has closed with a deeply encrusted scar.
(2532) : The twitching of the wings stops, and they fall to lay flat and smooth against the ground. After a few seconds, you can see movement in her neck as though she were breathing, slowly but surely exhaustedly asleep.
(2532) : Killboraen screams, "What's going on up there?!"
(2532) : He jumps back a second, "Harein . . . " his voice comes half-shout and half-yelp, ". . . . I'm sending up a rope vine, can you get up there?!"
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((/me thoroughly confused))
(2532) : ((sorry, she shed her skin, as part of the healing process.))
(2532) : ((sometimes I go overboard with the description, I know))
(2532) : ((Phadin?))
(2527) Harein: ((huh?))
(2527) Harein: ((sorry))
(2527) Harein: "Yeah, If you provide the vine to climb, I can."
** (2533) Alazphraxion hasn't seen his wand have that effect before, and is a little freaked out about it **
(2533) Alazphraxion: [1d20+1] -> [17,1] = (18)
** (2533) Alazphraxion decides that's all he can really do for her, and puts away the magic wand in one of his belt pouches. Then he flies over to the window to look around outside for any signs of the killer **
(2532) : Killboraen has already begun to pull a small string from his leaf tunic as the focus for the spell, whispering in his elvish tongue, ". . . .aili fandel liend eivi . . . ."
** (2533) Alazphraxion growls quietly **
(2532) : The loose string you suddenly realize is a string of hemp, and grows rapidly into the stem, and then the vine, of a quickly growing, wall-climbing rope.
(2527) Harein: "Allright, thanks." he says, grabbing hold of the rope vine, and starting to climb up the tube.
(2532) : As you flutter out to the window, the sight that greets you is the familiar terrain of the Suitchure district - large ornate homes, thin creeks of running water crisscrossing the side, cold night air, and plenty of darkness.
(2527) Harein: [1d20+8] -> [4,8] = (12)
(2532) : You manage to scurry upwards, although a little slowly
(2532) : From this side of the funnel, you realize the opening of the glass is door is on a simple hinge, which is not only unlcoked, but already open from the Lillend's first entry.
(2533) Alazphraxion: Spot [1d20-1] -> [13,-1] = (12) and Listen [1d20-1] -> [14,-1] = (13) as Alazphraxion flutters about and tries to find any clues, though he really isn't too keen in awareness
(2532) : The darkness and the running water provide too much cover for you to see and hear very much . . . .
(2532) : . . . . . and you can still hear the snorings of the ogre beneath you.
** (2527) Harein looks around once he gets up to the second floor, looking for the Lilind. **
(2532) : The Lillend lays sleeping, badly wounded, still critical, on the ground.
(2532) : "What's going on, Harein?!" Killboraen shouts again.
(2527) Harein: "oh no.... Killborean! It's the lilliand. She's hurt, badly. Looks like she got stabbed."
(2532) : "Tillabelas!!" he screams, completely panicked, scurrying up the rope in leaps and bounds himself.
(2527) Harein: "Whoa!" he backs away as Killborean practicly jumps up to the second floor!

(2532) : Within ten seconds, he's pushed open the glass and rushed in the room beside you. "What happ - Correlion, no!"
** (2533) Alazphraxion flutters back in dejectedly **
(2527) Harein: "We need to get her some place safe, now. This house has been invaded, what, three times now in one night?"
(2532) : With the same motion as his entrance, he's dropped beside the Lillend and is already checking the wound, her pulse, and her breath, ". . . . . someone used magic to heal her?" he asks aloud, not really to anyone, ". . . . that's poison," he whispers, sliding his hand across the scarred entry, ". . . . 'causes the flesh to shrivel when it scars."
** (2533) Alazphraxion slinks over next to the elf (half-elf?) **
(2532) : ((elf))
(2527) Harein: "It wasn't me." he looks at the small dragon.
(2532) : Killboraen nods, agreeingly, ". . . . Twipple, Twipple should know how to stop the poison. We don't have much time."
(2527) Harein: "We have to get her down the tube first."
(2533) Alazphraxion: *I know. Just heard scream, found Mistress, but no killer.*
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Don't know if my trinket helped.* he transmits
(2532) : He turns to Alazphraxion, "Get whatever you need, you're too tiny to carry her and fast enough to forage without slowing us down . . . . Harein, we have to fasten a harness. Can you find sheets, or silk curtains, or anything like that?"
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Um....Is Mistress still dying?*
(2532) : Killboraen simply nods.
(2527) Harein: "I think so, her bedroom."
(2527) Harein: "Alaz, where is her bedroom, we're gonna hve to use her sheets."
(2532) : He's already turned back towards Tillabelas and has begun to roll her onto her side, cupping her cheeks in his hand.
** (2533) Alazphraxion will quickly lead Harein wherever he needs to go in the house to get what's needed **
(2532) : ((your house, Alazphraxion, describe where you're going and what you're doing))
** (2533) Alazphraxion makes some unrecognizable animal groan or the like, maybe a sigh, and withdraws a slender wand from a pouch, then taps it on Tillabelas' forehead while invoking its magic. **
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((Wand of Restoration. Alazy's not really sure if it will help, but he knows it can help people who've been ravaged by poison or disease sometimes.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((though he also knows it won't actually cure afflictions))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((down to 4 charges on that wand now too))
** (2527) Harein grabs the items requested by Killborean. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion then flutters away, stowing the wand and leading Harein up to the lillend's quarters **
(2532) : Killboraen looks up as you lower the wand, smiling, "Yes, that'll help . . . . " he whispers, and he motions Tillabelas's cheeks, which are beginning to regain color.
(2532) : ((it's your house, Alaz, describe it as you go.))
** (2533) Alazphraxion flies up and over to the north side of the shaft, finagling the door handle to Tillabelas' chamber, managing to open the large double-doors, struggles to push one of them open enough for himself to enter, and then lands on the floor, pants, and slinks over towards the canopy bed **
** (2527) Harein follows Alaz, and heads for the bed, taking sheets and rolling them up to carry over to where Killborean and Tillabelas are. **
(2532) : Killboraen shouts, "And rope . . . . if you have any, these vines won't be strong enough for her!"
(2527) Harein: "Any rope around here Alaz?"
** (2533) Alazphraxion idly thinks about how angry the Mistress might be over her sheets being rumpled and bloody from wrapping her in them now, if that's what the little giants have in mind **
** (2533) Alazphraxion considers, and just flies off by himself, not waiting for Harein to keep up, looking around for any rope......he can't remember clearly if the Mistress had any rope around here, it's not something any noble-sort of person would keep around..... **
** (2533) Alazphraxion checks the storage rooms on the first two floors, diving down and then wrestling with each door handle to get inside and check **
(2533) Alazphraxion: Int [1d20+1] -> [16,1] = (17) to remember if he's ever seen rope around the home?
(2532) : ((up to you))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((I dunno. Does Tillabelas have rope around the house for some reason? I personally don't know what a noblewoman or the like would have it around for.))
(2532) : ((try . . . . . a storage cabinet in the yard, maybe?))
(2532) : ((or rope that was holding up curtains))
** (2533) Alazphraxion finds nothing in the storage rooms, so he goes outside to check around the outbuildings and such. **
(2532) : ((or in the pantry, people would hang food by ropes to keep the mice and insects off it))
(2532) : ((wherever you'd like to find it))
(2532) : ((it's your house))
(2532) : ((brb, keep going, make the whole harness and lower her down while I'm gone))[/sblock]
[sblock]** (2527) Harein waits for Alaz's report, not wanting to climb up and down the vine needlessly. **
** (2527) Harein instead helps in folding the sheets in preparation for some rope. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion eventually finds the rope in a small utility shed where servants or the like usually stow maintenance and yardwork tools, flying up and into the room where the lillend was while carrying the coil **
** (2527) Harein takes the rope that Alaz found and ties it in with the sheets. (and anything else needed to make a sling, I have no idea how to do this.) **
** (2527) Harein just follows Killborean's instructions. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion has no idea how to help, he doesn't know anything about rope or the healing arts or anything else so practical **
** (2533) Alazphraxion mostly sulks and broods. Then, after a few minutes of this, he thinks of something and flies outside, going down to sting the sleeping ogre a few times **
(2533) Alazphraxion: Tail sting [1d20+8] -> [4,8] = (12) melee [1d3+1] -> [1,1] = (2) damage and poison, and bite [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8) melee (1 damage)
(2533) Alazphraxion: Tail sting [1d20+8] -> [11,8] = (19) melee [1d3+1] -> [2,1] = (3) damage and poison, and bite [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8) melee (1 damage)
(2533) Alazphraxion: Tail sting [1d20+8] -> [9,8] = (17) melee [1d3+1] -> [2,1] = (3) damage and poison, and bite [1d20+3] -> [1,3] = (4) melee (1 damage)
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((3 fort saves to avoid some more hours of sleep))
** (2533) Alazphraxion can't think of anything else to do. The ogre might be useful for interrogation later, if anyone scarier is even around to do the interrogating. **
(2533) Alazphraxion: [1d3] -> [1] = (1) hours of extra sleep if any Fort DC 20 save fails
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((ermm, he didn't actually bite the ogre, I just forgot to leave out that part of the macro-thingy))
** (2533) Alazphraxion stays near the ogre, waiting and brooding, aware that he may have to sting the ogre a few more times **
(2532) : ((sorry, back now))
** (2533) Alazphraxion doesn't really realize that his stings may eventually kill the ogre from blood loss if the ogre won't just stay unconscious/asleep long enough **
(2532) : Killboraen cuts the rope into two long strands of hemp, tying them to the four corners of the sheet and, with Harein's help, rolls the heavy Lillend onto the silk sheets. Tillabelas's wings fold in dissaray as you begin to lift the sheets, and her tail hangs limply off one end. "She's too heavy . . . " Killboraen mutters, ". . . . we'll have to, I mean, what we'll have to do is construct something with wheels downstairs. But right now, I can use a little magic to lighten her weight as we lower her. It's important she doesn't land on her stomach."
(2527) Harein: "Allright. I'll help lift her down." he says, taking up the end of the rope.
(2532) : After an hour's labor, you manage to lower the Lillend, errect a small makeshift carriage, and begin to head out the district as quickly as you reasonably can.
** (2533) Alazphraxion goes with the others when they leave the house **
(2532) : Tillabelas has been covered with another violet silk sheet in order to cover her identity as you travel, and Killboraen peruses, "She might give us away . . . . we'd better take her somewhere official first, and you can fetch Tirian and Twipple to help."
(2532) : ----------------------------------------ELSEWHERE----------------------------------------
(2532) : Twipple sits comfortably in the chair across from you, his feet up on the table. The day has been a lot of arguing, bargaining, and negotiating, but you managed to convince one of the city councilors, familiar with Medlire, to help you impersonate him.
** (2533) Alazphraxion still resents the stupid house-guardian thingy for being useless, and probably just going to continue sucking at watching over the house **
(2532) : ". . . . says hes'll be by tomorrah's," Twipple repeats what you've already known, ". . . . so Killboraen's'll be happy."
(2532) : Harein's mother is sound asleep in her upstairs bedroom.
** (2527) Tirian sits in the chair, looking rather serious. "I suppose it was the best we could ask for, for now." **
(2527) Tirian: "the sooner we get this done, the better."
(2532) : . . . . and Dentere, the incompetent arrogent wizard, is still resting in a sickbed that he's refused to leave, though he's perfectly recovered by now.
(2532) : Suddenly, you can hear a hustling upstairs
(2532) : As though someone were running on the floor above you.
** (2527) Tirian glances up. "Is that Harein's mom?" **
** (2527) Tirian gets up from the chair. **
(2532) : Twipple casually looks up, "I dunno's, soundsed kindsa loud t'me . . . ."
** (2527) Tirian heads for the stairs cautiously, and takes them one at a time, quitely walking up. **
(2532) : A few seconds later, one of the doors swings open in a rush, and a panting figure - small, boyish, very familiar - appears in the doorway, from his own room, with the secret passage leading into your hideout. ((if you remember . . . .))
(2527) Tirian: "huh? Harein?"
(2532) : Suddenly from behind him, a small, strigy, ((very ugly)) little creature flitters above him, startling you.
** (2527) Tirian blinks, backing away. "What is THAT?" **
(2532) : ((. . . . and cue, psuedodragon . . . . . and Harein . . . . .))
(2527) Harein: "Tirian...relax. He's a friend."
** (2533) Alazphraxion looks dejected and grouchy, so he perhaps might not look so cute right now; again, insofar as anything draconic can look cute **
(2527) Harein: ((did we take the lilliand with us all this way, or leave her somewhere else?))
(2532) : ((Killboraen took the Lillend "somewhere official" and sent you to get Twipple and Tirian))
(2532) : ((thoguht it was clear))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((but shouldn't Alazy have stayed with the lillend?))
(2527) Harein: (("somewhere official" is about as clear as mud to me.))
(2532) : ((remember, Tirian is wanted across town for killing the Magistrate and by the thief guilds for betraying them . . . . and by Medlire for having his magic belt . . . . . ))
(2532) : ((. . . . it would look weird to bring a Lillend into Harein's house, wouldn't it?))
(2527) Harein: ((yeah, but I need to know where you DID take her))
(2527) Harein: ((I have no idea whree "somewhere official" is))
(2532) : ((Then pick somewhere official.))
(2532) : ((you decide))
(2527) Harein: ((probably some sorta healing temple is what comes to mind.)))
(2527) Harein: ((I don't know what the state of the gods are in this city.))
(2532) : (( pause ))
(2532) : Okay, if we're going to play with just two players, then I need you guys to help out more with the plotlines.
(2532) : If you feel like having a temple to a god nearby, you can make a decision like that too. You're both DMs in your own right, and you should feel experienced enough to make a few calls and descriptions on your own. If it hasn't come in game, it doesn't exist in the world yet. Consider the game around you to be fluent until it's in your background or it's come up in game.
(2527) Harein: Allright.. Not used to playing that way but I'll adjust.
(2532) : I have no idea where somewhere official might be. It could be a garrison, a temple, a druid grove, the castle, a healer . . . . anywhere. Feel free to decide, it's your game too.
(2532) : How about you, Ark?
(2527) Harein: I am just afraid of stepping on your toes, that's all.
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((............))
(2532) : Nahh.
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((I suppose in a big enough city, it's likely there's a large temple of some healing religion, or a couple of smaller such temples of different faiths in the city.))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((for simplicity's sake, I suppose just some big, uh, "House of Mercy" perhaps. *shrug* Probably somewhere between the poor and upper-class areas, to be open to everyone. Unless, y'know, it's one of those haughty faiths that only serves the nobility and the upper-middle-class.))

(2527) Harein: ((this is a HUGE city, btw

))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((right. Then I guess one of many such temples then. I'm doubtful there'd be a whole Citadel of Mercy))

(2532) : ((there's eleven districts, with their own magistrates and rules, with two castles and so on.))
(2527) Harein: ((no, it would be too centralized to service a large populace.

))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((now there's an odd thought..... a big, imposing, scary-looking, towering complex dedicated to healing.......))
(2532) : (( unpause ))
(2532) : Twipple gets to his feet, "Where's Killboraen?"
(2527) Tirian: "That... 'thing' is a friend?"
** (2533) Alazphraxion ended up leaving the lillend in the care of the elf, hoping he takes her to a healer. Maybe the pseudodragon is trying not to brood to much by hanging around the bloody, unconscious body. **
(2527) Harein: "His name is Alazphraxion. He belonged to the lilland."
** (2533) Alazphraxion growls a tad, but stoops down and lands on the floor, folding his wings and crouching **
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((what's Tirian and Twipple look like?))
** (2527) Tirian is a lean youth. He still has a bit of innocence in his eyes, despite his past. He is obviously thin, with no fat and limited muscle. His hair is messy and dirty, showing hints of having been light brown under the cacked dirt. His clothing is poor, at the moment consisting only of a pair of shorts that are obviously torn, and no shirt at all. He wears one item of interest, a thin silvery colored metal belt. The belt seems to actually be melded with his skin, merging flesh into metal where it's worn. **
(2532) : Twipple is a short and pot-bellied hallfling, with a wide-brimed tan hat on his head, a pipe hanging between his lips, the look of homeliness across his face, and an apron half-waded into and half hanging out of his back side pocket.
(2527) Harein: "Twipple, your needed. The lilliand got hurt. Killborean is with her right now, but your needed as well." Harein says, his breath still short.
** (2533) Alazphraxion regards these new people as about as ugly as they regard the pseudodragon **
(2532) : Twipple nods, but his eyes seem to shift in their sockets, ". . . . the Lillend got's hurtseyed?"! What's?! How's? I t'ought's you's was just sneaksin' in . . . . ?"
(2527) Harein: "It wasn't us. There were others that were trying to get in her place tonight to. It was an assassin of some kind."
(2527) Harein: "The blade was poisoned.
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Murderer. Villain. Nasty sneak stabbed the Mistress. Boy-giant and elf harmless.*
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((fooey. couldn't type fast enough))
(2527) Tirian: "Huh? Hey, who said that?"
** (2533) Alazphraxion snorts **
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Who do you think?*
(2532) : Twipple's face sinks as he hears the words assassination and poisoned, ". . . . you's, uhh-oh's. An's . . . . whut's t'at voicey in my head?" Twipple pauses, ". . . . hello's voicey?"
(2527) Harein: "Relax, both of you, that's just Alazphraxion."
(2527) Harein: "He doesnt' talk like us, he talks in your head." he taps his head for emphasis.
(2527) Tirian: "He can't.. uh... read minds or anything, can he?"
(2532) : Twipple pauses for a second, his eyes scanning the room, ". . . . nahh's, no way's. You sound's like's me brother's, but he's been dead's seventeen yearsey . . . . "
** (2533) Alazphraxion gives a draconic snicker, which sounds more to you like a hissing cough-growl....... **
(2527) Harien: "No, he can't read minds.
(2527) Harien: "Now, Twipple, we need your help to cure the lilliand."
(2532) : Twipple finally stops and takes note of Harein's comments, and shrugs his shoulders, "Knew's it couldn'sta been him . . . . yes'm, I's a-comsin'."
** (2533) Alazphraxion looks up at Harein, trying to give a look that says 'so you think' **
** (2527) Tirian looks relieved, but still concerned. "I want to come to." **[/sblock]
[sblock](2527) Harein: "You can't go out looking like that, Tir. At least grab a shirt from my dresser if your going to come. Just be sure to take it off if you get the sudden urge to change."
(2532) : Twipple quickly rushes into the kitchen, fetching what looks to be an ornate bag of spices, as well as several bowls, a large pot, and two frying pans.
(2527) Tirian: "Very funny." he mumbles, as he heads to Harein's dresser for a tunic to wear.
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Why are we here?* he thinks to Harein
(2527) Harein: "Twipple is a healer. He can cure your mistress."
** (2527) Tirian returns with a shirt that is one size too large, but at least wearable. **
(2532) : Twipple collects his things and begins to follow you, "Where's we headsin'?"
(2527) Tirian: "Back through the passage, and then out to the Healer's Pavilian north of Market Square."
(2527) Tirian: ((gah, that was harein.))
** (2533) Alazphraxion spreads his wings, starts flapping, and hops up to hover along slowly **
(2532) : Twipple nods, "Alrightsy . . . . . " he says with his usual childishness, but his voice turns oddly solemn as he continues, ". . . . must's be pretsy bad . . . . I mean's, if he's not sure's the Healer's Pavilian can help's."
(2527) Harein: "A poisoned dagger... some kinda really nasty poison from what Killborean described."{
** (2527) Tirian wals along after the othrs down the secret passage. **
(2532) : The passage from Harein's bedroom leads you back downstairs, and you climb through a long mostly downward shaft . . . . a small room presents itself, with a few knicknacks and shelves lining the walls, but mostly it seems bare, and now that you see it yet again, Tirian, you realize it must be an escape bunker far more than a secret guild hideaway . . . . you walk through the back exit and lift the shaft above a small merchant tent, where the merchant lets you pass with a pleasant smile. Harein then whispers that the merchant is his uncle.
** (2527) Tirian nods, no wonder he was so friendly. **
(2532) : The town square hustles around you, and nobody seems to notice the child who's wanted face has been depicted across the city . . . . you notice the sneer of several of the armed soldiers as you walk past, a reminder that the district was placed under marshall law since the magistrate's building collapsed . . . .
** (2533) Alazphraxion decides scurrying on the ground would be best here, staying behind the bigger folk **
(2533) Alazphraxion: Hide [1d20+19] -> [17,19] = (36) to stay beneath the sight of the bigger folk
(2532) : Ahead of you, the small but wide, outdoor building of the pavilian presents itself. More like a plaza with many short walls, healers walk up and down through the pavilian tending to those who present themselves and need healing . . . .
(2532) : . . . . a large, permanent tent rises up above the pavilian, and a sense of welcoming overcomes all of you as you approach it.
(2532) : Twipple's eyes have already begun dashing through the corridors and aisles. Finally they lock onto Killboraen, standing ahead, towards one of the right-side sections of the pavilian.
** (2527) Harein walks in behind Twipple and asside Tirian. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion scurries over to see if the Mistress is alright **
(2527) Harein: "I guess those two will spend their time doing their magic. How did things go for you?" he says, taking a seat nearby.
(2532) : The outdoor structure makes it easy to see the healers and visitors and welcomness of the place, but impossible to see the wounded from behind the short, chest-high walls that criss-cross the plaza
(2527) Tirian: "We got someone to come by tomorrow to show me how to act like the guy. We're going to have to hold off one more day, but at least I'll learn what I need to."
(2532) : Twipple rushes forward, calling to Killboraen as he does . . . . Killboraen turns towards Twipple, and within a few seconds they are speaking with each other far into the pavilian, and speaking with one of the healers. You cannot see Tillabelas from here, and they've left your ear shot.
(2527) Tirian: "So things were kinda crazy at the lilliand's?"
(2527) Harein: "Thats an understatement. Everything was fine till Alaz caught me. He's a better watchdog then I gave him credit for."
(2532) : As you reach Tillabelas, Alazphraxion, you find that she seems to be much better colored today than before . . . . . Twipple is holding her cheeks and running a finger over the wound and trying to look into her eyes. The healer behind him is speaking about her condition, ". . . . little we can do for the poison . . ."
(2532) : Twipple nods
(2532) : ". . . . we can treat the symptoms . . . . but we can't seem to purge it from her. The virus has lodged itself in her heart, that's where it reproduces from . . . "
(2532) : Twipple continues to nod. He doesn't speak, he doesn't look at the healer, and he continues to focus on the Lillend.
(2532) : Killboraen seems more focused on Twipple than on the other healer, as though his confidences were stronger in the young halfling.
(2527) Harein: "Tirian, things are getting crazier out there, in the streets. The martial law is good in appearance, but.... it's like something else is going on int he shadows."
(2532) : "They's says . . . . there's no cure's allsa time's . . . . but's we find's 'em, we do . . . " Twipple finally whispers, more of a rhetorical mumble than a conversation point, ". . . . find's 'em in good's recipes, always. They's says there's no cure fer lyncanthropy . . . . we's found's one, and nobodsy believe's us . . . ." the halfling continues, pressing cold ice to Tillabelas's lips.
** (2533) Alazphraxion curls up and broods, not sure what to say or do, just worried and grumpy now **
(2532) : Finally Twipple stands up, nodding to Killboraen and bowing respectfully to the healer, "Well's . . . " he says, "I's goin'sta need's a few days at 'er, but's I know's what'll do it."
** (2527) Tirian is silent for a bit, just shaking his head. **
(2532) : Killboraen's face suddenly lightens incredibly, and he smiles and shrieks with happiness, "Thank you Twipple!!" he shouts, rushing forward to take him by the hand, "Thank you Twipple!!" and he shrieks again, looking up Alazphraxion he grabs the dragon lizard loosely by the neck, "She's going to be all right!!!"
(2532) : Twipple simply watches, dumbfounded.
** (2527) Tirian is shaken out of his thoughts by Killborean's screams. "Geeze! killborean, you need to calm down." **
(2532) : The healer takes a step back in shock, then two steps forward, "What . . . . .?"
** (2527) Harein is just as dumbfounded as the halfling. **
** (2533) Alazphraxion is dazed. **
(2533) Alazphraxion: *What? Why is the elf crazy now?*
** (2527) Tirian walks over to the elf. "Easy Killborean, or your going to strangle the dragon." **
** (2533) Alazphraxion has the same worry **
(2532) : Killboraen suddenly shakes his head, as if coming to his senses. He releases the dragon and takes a step back, taking deep breathes to calm himself. "All right . . . . all right."
(2532) : "I'm just . . . . just relieved is all . . . . "
(2532) : ((. . . . or he's taking on the effects of the amaretto I'm drinking. One or the other))
(2533) Alazphraxion: *......Why do you care so much all of a sudden?* The pseudodragon cocks his head in confusion
(2532) : "Uhh . . . . no reason. I can just tell she has a lot of . . . . of potential . . . to add . . . to whatever it is we're . . . . doing." He spurts out, rather blushingly.
(2527) Tirian: "riiight." Harein says.
(2527) Haren: "If she's going to be ok, we should go back to my house. We need to talk."
(2532) : "Right."
(2532) : Twipple stays behind, while Killboraen - with many reluctant glances back towards the Lillend - follows after you.
** (2527) Tirian follows as Harein leads the way back to his uncles stand and the passage back to his house. **
(2532) : "All right . . . ." Killboraen says when you finally reach Harein's home. ". . . .whatever happened tonight, I feel that everything's been connected. We have a district under marshall law, and Medlire was instrumental in persuading the king. Blueprints were stollen to some of the richest and most powerfully owned homes in the town . . . "
(2527) Tirian: "They were stolen?" Tirian says, glaring at Harein
(2527) Harein: "I never said we got them. Alaz caught me first."
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((is Alaz following Harein, or do they force him to stay behind?))
(2527) Harein: "But then whoever stabbed the lillith got them."
(2532) : ". . . . for an assassination. That means guild activity, and we know the guild's activities have all been disrupted by what's been happening to you, Tirian . . . ."
(2532) : ((you follow))
(2527) Harein: ((Alaz is welcome to come.))
(2527) Tirian: "Two of them are involved with me now, at least. what about the other guilds?"
** (2533) Alazphraxion is quite confused but slinks along anyway, knowing that he can't do anything for the lillend now and he'd get bored lazing about at the Healer's Pavillion **
(2532) : ". . . . . all of them are affected by guild wars, Tirian. There's room for taking sides, holding leverage, expanding operations . . . "
(2527) Tirian: "and one of them expanded into assassination?"
(2527) Tirian: "and is likely expanding into the noble's territory."
(2532) : "Some of them have always been involved . . . . but some can expand, yes."
(2532) : ". . . . we haven't had many assassinations in this town. Common hit men, but few assassins."
(2527) Harein: "and this wasn't just a hit... poisoned blade, and no sign of the attacker. It's definately an assassination attempt."
(2532) : ((sorry Arkhandus, a few things that happened before you joined . . . . try and follow, and we'll get everything explained soon.))
(877) Mercenary*162g (enter): 14:45
(2532) : ((hello?))
(2527) Harein: ((hello))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((hi))
(2533) Alazphraxion: ((Mercenary's one of the mods I think, or the server's, uh, owner or whatever, so he can probably come and go on the server's rooms.))
(2527) Harein: ((he's certainly here about 100% of the time

))
(877) Mercenary*162g: (that ... and you did kinda broadcast the password to the lobby before making the room

(2533) Alazphraxion: ((heheh))
(2527) Harein: ((well, you and Ark were the only ones there

))
(2532) : ((indeed, I did))
** (2533) Alazphraxion tries to keep up with the conversation between the elf and the two human boys, though he has no idea what they're talking about, he knows it has something to do with the city and its guilds...... **
(2527) Tirian: "Can we still make the raid on Medlire's tomorrow night?"
** (2533) Alazphraxion doesn't know why anyone'd want to assassinate the Mistress. She didn't let him have pastries and chocolates very often, but she didn't go around terrorizing the place.....not the worst 'owner' he's had in his short life as a pet. **
(2532) : Killboraen nods, "We have to . . . . when Tillabelas comes to, she can tell us what other buildings she's made and who might be the target, if it's not too late. But in the meantime, we know that Medlire orcastrated your attack on the Magistrate, which began the guild wars . . . . he's our only lead, and this has spiraled out of control."
(2527) Tirian: "and in only a day to."
(2527) Tirian: "Besides, Medlire is also the only one that might know what the heck happened with me and this belt."
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Umm...... Is there anything we should do with the unconscious ogre in the Mistress' yard? I stung him a few more times but I don't know how long he'll be out....* he broadcasts
(2532) : Killboraen's eyes raise, "Nevermind the ogre . . . . we left the chamelean thing there!"
(2527) Harein: "Oh, yeah, you might want to meet the lizard to Tirian. It's got this great camoflauge ability you could use."
(2533) Alazphraxion: *Wasn't the lizard-guy dead?*
(2532) : Killboraen shakes his head
(2527) Tirian: "Harein, I don't want to use the thing any more then I have to, we don't know what this belt is doing to me."
(2527) Harein: "no, it was just unconcious as well. We should go retrieve it and find out who sent it."
(2527) Tirian: "Thats a much longer walk, and a bit dangerous for me to come with my face plastered everywhere."
(2532) : Killboraen nods, ". . . . but your face is plastered everywhere with a great big pair of wings on your back."
(2527) Tirian: "So as long as the belt doesn't make me grow wings all of a sudden, I should be ok."
(2532) : ". . . . . except for the guilds, they know who you are."

Ability Focus (Poison), Hover, Skill Focus (Use Magic Device)
(Monster Feats copied from the 3.5 SRD, with unnecessary bits cut away)
ABILITY FOCUS [Bad dice format] - [GENERAL]
Choose one of the creatures special attacks.
Prerequisite: Special attack.
Benefit: Add +2 to the DC for all saving throws against the special attack
on which the creature focuses.
HOVER [Bad dice format] - [GENERAL]
Prerequisite: Fly speed.
Benefit: When flying, the creature can halt its forward motion and hover in
place as a move action. It can then fly in any direction, including straight
down or straight up, at half speed, regardless of its maneuverability.
If a creature begins its turn hovering, it can hover in place for the turn and take
a full-round action. A hovering creature cannot make wing attacks, but it can
attack with all other limbs and appendages it could use in a full attack. The
creature can instead use a breath weapon or cast a spell instead of making
physical attacks, if it could normally do so.

Description
A tiny dragon flutters a few feet off the ground, hovering with the furious beating of leathery little wings. Rather than appearing fierce or hostile, this little dragonkin looks sort of cute and friendly, insofar as anything draconic can appear so. The miniature dragon has russet red scales and looks to be just over a foot tall, with a 2-foot tail curled about its feet, ending in the bulge of a tiny stinger. Its eyes are golden and slitted like a reptile's, and it wears a small iron helmet fitted to its draconic head, as well as a sort of stylish silver-embroidered black satin mantle about its neck and shoulders. The psuedodragon also wears a small leather belt around its waist, covered in pouches, with a sealed quiver attached to the back of the belt.
Personality
Alazphraxion is a curious and possessive little psuedodragon, occasionally stricken with wanderlust or greed, but generally friendly and eager to ask questions and learn about things. He enjoys the presence of people and listening in on conversations. Learning little secrets and trivia is an amusing pasttime for the psuedodragon, just like his penchant for collecting trinkets and shiny tidbits. Though he likes having glittery and shiny stuff to hoard over, he's not altogether miserly, and can be persuaded to donate a little to unfortunates on some of his better days. Fickle and catty like most psuedodragons, Alazphraxion quickly makes friends and clings to them like an overly-curious leech, then abandons them at a whim when they slight him or simply fail to lavish him with enough attention. Alazphraxion enjoys little intrigues and adventures, discovering things or puzzling over riddles, even though he's not terribly talented with these. Devices and strange inventions interest him too. His chief interest though is simply exploring places and watching people, well, that and the occasional prank.
Background
Alazphrazion has recently been living with a beautiful lillend, whom he's tried to learn music from but failed miserably, having no sense of rhythm or notes. He was very interested in what she might know about the world and whatever lies beyond, but all she was really willing to teach him was a bit about music and some philosophical mumbo jumbo that didn't pique his interest in the slightest. He had to really strain himself not to fiddle with every pretty little trinket, art piece, doodad, and other shiny piece of miscellany in her home, but he managed. She was certainly a nice enough host, after all, she smelled nice, and her voice had a nice ringing tone that was really neat to his draconic hearing. She treated the psuedodragon well, but he's been kind of bored lately and doesn't feel like he's gotten enough attention. Sitting around listening to beautiful music is nice and all, but it gets dull after awhile without someone to pet you and feed you grapes, tarts, or other goodies. Alazphraxion really would've liked some more candy.....
Still, it was better than that elf he clung to last year, eating berries and fruits, those were too tangy. Alazphraxion had left the elf's house when he got bored and after a little while of flying, decided that he'd just keep going and not go back. So the little psuedodragon wandered out of the forest and found his way to a traveling merchant, whom he mooched off of for a few weeks, then moved on and came to the lillend's home, which looked all big and neat and interesting, so he flew around and perched on the roof for a bit while listening for signs...... Eventually he heard some really lovely singing drift through one of the windows, and fluttered over to hear it better, finding the lillend inside the room when he landed on the windowsill. The beautiful creature noticed this tiny psuedodragon curled up on her windowsill, purring, and took an interest in the little critter.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: um, who just posted my sheet to chat?
(2532) Devor: I did, sorry, was looking it over.
(2532) Devor: Take 5 levels of Sorcerer, free of charge.
(2527) Tirian: ?
(2533) DM Arkhandus: LOL
(2532) Devor: Sorry, I apologize, I take that back . . . .
(2532) Devor: . . . . . make it 6, for the 3rd lvl magic.
(2527) Tirian: That makes him a level 13 character? wow.
(2532) Devor: You get the feats, and the spells, but no HP or Save increases.
(2532) Devor: And no ability increases.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Um, may I ask why you'd suddenly bump up Alaz's level though?
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Aren't the others around level 10 or 12?
(2532) Devor: Just felt like it . . . . was thinking about it for a while, now, actually.
(2532) Devor: Do you mind?
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Psuedodragons have some nice enough benefits from their +3 Level Adjustment; blindsight, spell resistance, etc.
(2532) Devor: Well . . . . you should see Phadin's characters, they're stuff is . . . . well, powerful.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Well, blindsense, anyway
(2527) Tirian: True
(2527) Tirian: He's giving you free stuff with no level cost Ark, don't worry about it

(2532) Devor: And he does have two characters, instead of one.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: I just don't know why you suggested the sudden 5 or 6 level bump
(2533) DM Arkhandus: I just felt I should point out I'm already ECL 10 with the pseudodragon traits
(2532) Devor: Meanwhile, multiclass levels aren't nearly as strong as single-class levels.
(2527) Tirian: He's saying you get spellcasting ability equal to a level 6 sorcerer, basicly.
(2532) Devor: And two feats.
(2532) Devor: Metamagic feats, I mean.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Eh?
(2533) DM Arkhandus: 6 real levels or 6 effective levels of sorcerer?
(2532) Devor: No HP, no Saves, just two feats (3rd and 6th, right?) and 6 lvls of spellcasting.
(2532) Devor: And I assume you'd use the feats for metamagic, or something similar.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Why 2 feats though?
** (2533) DM Arkhandus is just curious by nature **
(2532) Devor: Well, if you had 'em from the start, you might've taken a metamagic feat.
(2532) Devor: and, you did just ponder how cool it'd be to play a spellcaster. So why not?
(2533) DM Arkhandus: I think the feats I chose at start are appropriate and fitting for Alazphraxion; hover, skill focus, and ability focus. Makes sense for a pseudodragon, and a rogue
(2527) Tirian: Anyway, popping out for another game.
(2532) Devor: That they do.
** (2533) DM Arkhandus always likes to play spellcasters, heheh **
(877) Mercenary*162g (exit): 15:06
(2527) Tirian: Later
(2527) Tirian (exit): 15:06
(2533) DM Arkhandus: later
(2532) Devor: Now your a psuedodragon, a rogue, and a sorcerer. So metamagic is also appropriate.
(2533) DM Arkhandus: Won't look a gift horse in the mouth
(2533) DM Arkhandus: or whatever that saying is
(2532) Devor:

> Kewl.
(2532) Devor: Enjoy!
