The Kyngdoms is pleased to announce that it will soon be in a position to release the first of three d20 fantasy adventures, a trilogy collectively known as The Last Mage of Mount Fane, by Keith Robinson, author of The Kyngdoms Campaign Setting.

An ancient wizard, Fane created a series of portals that united the cities of the south and brought them security and great power. However, his enemies were great and he was eventually deceived and betrayed, falling from grace and forced to flee his home. With a blackened heart, Fane built a dark tower in the Great Barrier Mountains and a single portal that linked all the others, through which he sent his kobold army.

The cities of the south fell and were razed to the ground, until Fane was eventually defeated and forced to flee back to his tower. Unable to break through the lower floors, Fane was instead locked into his tower by a powerful curse, binding him for the rest of his days to that terrible place.

Although a thousand years have since passed, that tower still stands above the mountain pass used by merchants to travel between Olthorn and the City of Karnish, its brooding, menacing presence a permanent reminder of its history. Legend says, however, that one day the curse will be broken, should kobolds ever return to Mount Fane, upon which his legendary tower stands, and that Fane will be free to once again wreak his evil havoc.

Part 1: The Cult of Fane: for 1st level adventurers. If rumors of the return of kobolds to Mount Fane were not enough, the disappearance of a number of towns folk in the small village of Mazula has seen the community gripped with fear and panic. Now, news has arrived that lights have been seen above the tower and that Fane himself stirs, soon to return, bent on revenge. The ineffective Village Council seem powerless in the face of recent events and ancient supertitions, which the presence of the Cult of Fane - a small cult dedicated to the return of Fane - does little to alleviate. Disturbed by recent events and frustrated at the lack of action, Father Peyter Hirschon, the cleric of the Holy Lodge of Erenus, has decided to act and hire out those who are willing to investigate what is going on in the village and beyond.

With a fully fleshed out village, including a full color map, detailed NPCs, two significant encounter areas (one urban, the other in the lower regions of the Great Barrier Mountains), plus an array of encounters and hazards, this adventure is packed with fun and excitement and not to be missed. It is also the first part of the trilogy, The Last Mage of Mount Fane.

Part 2: The Shadow of Fane: for 3rd level adventurers. Continuing onwards, the trek through the awesome Great Barrier Mountains is a hazardous one, with numerous encounters and hazards that have to be overcome as the party of adventurers journey to Mount Fane and the tower that sits upon it. With a mission to discover the truth behind the rumors of Fane's return, they must overcome the kobold hordes that, so they are told, await them.

Including a whole range of interesting encounters and hazards, all fully described and mapped, as the adventurers trek through the mountains, the climax of this adventure occurs in the bowels of Mount Fane against the kobold warriors of Chief Panak. The finale, however, sees the adventurers come face to face with their greatest challenge yet, in the ancient portal chamber that Fane himself once used to move his armies against his enemies. This is the second part of the trilogy, The Last Mage of Mount Fane.

Part 3: The Tower of Fane: for 5th level adventurers. The ascent of Mount Fane and entry into the legendary tower itself, where the battle with the Cult of Fane reaches its climax. With the trek around the base of Mount Fane, as well as the actual ascent of the mountain itself, fully described, the journey to the summit is an adventure in itself. However, at the top sits the Tower of Fane, a place of mystery and evil which will live long in the minds of those who enter and survive. As well as the many adventures within the tower itself, those who enter must also tackle the elemental nodes that Fane created to protect himself from his enemies. This is the third and final part of the trilogy, The Last Mage of Mount Fane.

These adventures will come filled with superb cartography and exciting illustrations and will be available as PDFs from rpgnow and drivethrurpg, retailing for around $6.49 each*. The first of the trilogy, The Cult of Fane, is likely to be available in 6 to 8 weeks*, with a six weekly release schedule for the second and third parts respectively.

For those who don't run The Kyngdoms Campaign Setting or who wish to run the adventures as one-offs, rather than a trilogy, each is designed so that this is easily accomplished with the mimimum effort on the part of the GM, as each concludes with a dramatic and exciting finale!

Hold onto your hats folks, the adventure of a lifetime is coming your way very soon.
