The latest "IN" thing with 3E......

Ok, this was much too good. I actually got an outright, rolling laugh out of this - that doesn't happen much anymore. The rest of the pokes are good, but this one just takes the cake. I WANT that book. :D No offense, Nightfall. ;)

None taken Terriasm. I have to admit that and Quint were my two favorites so far. ;)

I think as a major backlash to the "Book of Vile Teenage fart gags" the next big thing will be supplements detailing how to play cute n' cuddly characters. Fluffy bunny templates. Resistance to pollen. Craft: flower arrangement. The list is endless.
isn't someone already working on Wind and the Willows d20? ;)

No good can come of that.

Someone will get the idea to hybridize it with the BoVD and create a spell called Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

I think you can fill in the flavor text yourselves.
i'd rather have that cast on me than Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. :D

The thing I think we'll see are "toolkit" products.

Since most folks have got a campaign world that they like, what will sell is stuff you can plug in to your existing campaigns.

Monster templates are just one example of this.

Spells and monsters we have already seen, as well as magic items, prestige classes, and variant classes.

What else is there?

Equipment and vehicles. NPC's. Gods and cults.

Hmmm. Crunchy toolkits- Arms & Armor, Book of Templates

Flavor "recipe book" toolkits- Requiem for a god, ???

Which one would an NPC book be?

Which do people find more useful? Seems to me we're closer to market saturation on the "crunchier" books, but I'm not really all that familiar with the true demand, since we mostly hear the negative viewpoints. ;)

I'd be much more interested in a book on religions. Have it go into some detail on a bunch of generic religions. Talk about the religious structures, how devotees work with each other and society. Stuff that would be actually useful for GM's and players to roleplay effectively religious types, rather than a book of god-stats.
