[The Le Games] 3-year anniversary! $1.99 bundle!

Congrats Le on the rankings!

I would agree with the Grump. I really enjoyed the classes. They did a great job of defining some of the archtypes you think about, but can be hard to fashion cobbling together a multiclass character. And after seeing Unorthodox Barbarians, I really think these lines are worth looking into further.

I agree with AG that the gunpowder rules weren't what I was looking for. But neither were his. Auld Grump's rules are a bit too advanced, technology wise.

I agree with you Le that I want guns to be a one-shot-and-you-toss-them feel. Reloading is something done out of combat. My inspiration and desire is from the Three Musketeers (the books). There the pistol was used as they closed and then they switched to swords. Their servants kept extra loaded pistols on hand if needed. No one re-loaded a gun though.

But with that in mind, I want something simple! But Deadly! And I don't mind misfire rules. I would encourage a (simple!) set to mimick my conception of early uses of firearms. But I think the damage needs to be stronger to encourage better use.

For Unorthodox Pirates, I am not sure Le, why my scurvey dog in the crow's nest wouldn't have a crossbow rather than a brace of pistols.

Heh, for me fantasy is very much a thing of the age of gunpowder, beginning with Grimm's Fairy Tales and Peter Pan. The fact that back in 1976, when I was in Boy Scouts I received a merit badge for blackpowder marksmanship might have something to do with it as well. :p (Something that escapes rules, but black powder stinks! It's like the Devil's own flatulence. ) I am very much a fan of 17th and 18th century firearms.

The Unorthodox series has always focused on alternate classes, and that is what those books do best. I have tried to expand them to give a little more oomph -- gun rules, prestige classes, magic items, artifacts, feats, spells, etc.

But in the end the meat of the books is always the 20th-level classes.

Maybe I will try to simplify my gun rules for a future book, like Unorthodox Pirate Booty (coming this summer) (final title to be announced).

I already own Unorthodox Barbarians (one of my first ever PDF purchases), but I have been meaning to pick up several of these other PDFs. Yay me for being a cheapskate and holding out!

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback. Speaking of which, don't forget to leave Rpgnow.com feedback for the products your purchase! The bundle actually treats each book as a seperate product, so please leave feedback for the ones you can!

A reminder: This anniversary sale will end March 1st! So act now!
