Round 2 The scratch of Mathews stylus on his crossbow can barely be heard over the chorus of howling that swirls around you. OOOeeeOOOeeeOOOeeeOOOeee.... And suddenly everything goes dead silent. Rethlin holds his total defense. Veyk holds his total defense. Zook readies a spell to cast at the first sign of trouble. "Maybe we scared them off." says Bill, demonstrating he's never been adventuring before. Suddenly the night ERUPTS with HOWLS of HUNGER!!! Violet beasts that glow with a sickly inner light appear around the party. They look like the clawfoot dinosaurs halflings from the Talenta plains ride, but they have no heads: their necks end in giant mouths full of sharp teeth that yearn to be buried in your flesh.!!! Reveka leans back as a distended mouth reaches out from an impossible angle for her shoulder, only to find the move has led nearly into the jaws of yet another beast! A black forked tongue leaves a trail of faintly luminescent slime on the shield she barely brings up in time. Attack on Reveka (1d20 6=17, 1d6 3=8) Standing unarmored and armed only with a hardback book, the gnome Zook appears to be an easy target for hungry goblin ghosts. But as many an ex-Emerald Claw trooper can attest, the gnome is watched over by all the gods he studies: the fangs of the beasts never come near him. Attack on Zook (1d20 6=7, 1d6 3=4) (OOC: You do realize I'm going to make Zook take the Fatespinner class as soon as he qualifies, right?) A third pair of beasts flickers into existence in front of Veyk, working together to try and rend him to bits. Attack on Veyk (1d20 6=11, 1d6 3=6) And they work together very poorly. Almost as soon as they appear the beasts flicker out like snuffed candles: if it weren't for the saliva on Reveka's shield, it might almost have been a dream. Reveka and Zook have readied actions -- greatsword slash and spell -- they can take. Jack, triggering your attack action will break the circle and start to expose flanks...also move you away from Bill. You may choose not to take your readied action. The order is... SLASHING CLAWING FLURRY OF DEATH!!! (right...) Rethlin Veyk Zook Jack Reveka Exercising readied actions will change this order. Readied actions of Zook and Reveka are up. Bill and Will Matthew
