Go with an Mac.

That's what I am going to do when this computer bites the dust. There are just too many things that go wrong with PC's. Also my Athlons fan is very loud.

In todays age of superfast computers I would take a quiet PC over a faster one any day. Although from what I hear Macs are really fast.

I guess the moral of it all is that one should never place all his eggs in one basket. Always back up your files, and never be to discriminating when opening one's emails.

Repeat after me, I WILL BACKUP MY DATA ON A REGULAR BASIS!

And also repeat after me, IF I DO NOT WANT TO RISK CONTAMINATION THROUGH EMAIL, I WILL NOT USE MS OUTLOOK!

No offense, but number two is a very good function unless your absolutely sure your behind a very save system (and for 99% of the folks out there that's not the case)...

Buy a copy of Norton Antivirus Corp edition, set it for autoupdate every 8hrs and then sit back and enjoy your comfy life.

On that note, buy a laptop you can take it everywhere you want, enjoy the freedom it offers and be portable and reliable, the price you pay for a computer for what you appear to be doing is going to be the same price as a good laptop.

Recommendation for good laptop:

1. IBM-T20 series
2. Compaq- Armada series
3. Sony Viao-I have the 580

Get something rugged, sturdy, and something a business would buy not a cheap home imitation. Afterall you think that a business will rely on something breaking down all the time? Steer clear from gateway's and hp's. Dell's are decent but I would aim for a Armada or a T or A series from IBM.
