I doubt it.

I suspect part of it will be collecting the "new" monsters like the duegar and norker from the various adventurers.

I actually doubt that WoTC will collect these monsters into a new MM; instead, I think if they are collected anywhere, they will appear in the DDI Compendium.

I want new monster books for three reasons. First, I love monster books. Two, sometimes I don't have the time or inclination to build or reskin monsters. Finally, I like that the D&D community has a common baseline of monsters to select from.

I wish I didn't have to wait 7+ months for this! The more monsters I have, the better. I've fallen in love with how easy it is to make my own, but MMs always fuel my creativity!

I love monster books, so that's probably a must. But I'm not too keen on the cover - WotC art direction really loves this overly colourful, O'Connor-inspired style. :erm:

I was much more impressed with nJoo's Demogorgon for Paizo (make sure to click on the picture). Or WAR's take on it. And I'm all for getting Komarck's work on the covers.

Cheers, LT.
Ditto on all accounts.

Someone mentioned Yeenoghu. We already got stats for him in the first 4e Dragon magazine.

IMHO, however, this is still one of the all-time coolest covers for any fantasy RPG. It took my breath away when I first saw it as a kid:

Someone needs to remind him which end of the halberd he's supposed to hit people with.

How does the ENWorld feel?
Demogorgon is the big bad in the campaign I'm running, so it's a necessity.

Plus, I just like having more options and inspiration. With exceptions based design, I'd like to see what new exceptions are created.

And while you can re-skin/level up and down any monster, having them done ahead of time is much more convenient. Especially at low level - we need more for levels 1-2 than just kobolds and goblins and a few paltry crap.

I thought Graz'zt would be cool, but do we really want a bestial Graz'zt to be forever immortalized on the cover of an MM? He is one of those demons who just doesn't, fit, the new art direction. Perhaps Pazuzu would be a better choice. After that, for MMIV at the latest I think they should switch to bad guys from the Astral Dominions. Maybe Glasya, with a somewhat overt stand in for Asmodeus (like a snake that stares straight towards you, while Glasya is actually looking away). That would be cool, in the creepy kind of sense I think.
