Extend Spell is fantastic for any character based on spells that last for rounds/level and sometimes minutes/level. Double the number of Chill Touch, Produce Flame, Rusting Grasp, etc. True Strike is also interesting with doubled duration...

What Caliban said, plus Extend Spell and Silent Spell (for sorcerers). Twin Spell is also nice for sorcerers as some sort of Quicken Spell replacement. Oh, and not to forget Sudden Maximize.

I love Extend spell, especially on Melf's Acid Arrow. It's just so much fun to see the length of time that lasts doubled. Of course Extend is cool on other things too. Besides that, I like Sudden Empower. I've always liked Empower better than Maximized because of the one less adjustment and I like to roll, especially lots of d6s. I haven't really taken many other Metamagic feats because they don't seem worth it to me as much.
