My opinion is the adventure is more focused into the

"glitch of reality"

but we could see some characters from the videogame as "easter eggs" or cameos.

I wonder if that *spoiler" could be a clue about a future event where Vecna could reboot the D&D multiverse again.

Yeah, it's lazy. But Torment well deserves a homage and to be known by current generations of players.
