The new Sage

Ah, yes. I'm glad that the guy who didn't realize there were formulas behind the good and bad save progressions
This is one that concerns me. I hate the average saves, just plain bad mechanics -- one of the beautiful bits about 3.0/d20 is that many things are formula-driven and average saves blow that out of the water.

That said, Andy seems like a decent fellow and I've enjoyed most of the 'ideas' I've seen that I can lay at his feet. It's possible that this'll all work out well and we'll get a real creative talent in their while he'll end up with a better understanding of all the underlying principles of the rules (the best way to learn is to teach).

NOTHING will change that aspect of the column, ever. :) Some people just can't accept the phrase, "Here's my advice, but do what works best" no matter who's giving it. For such gamers, WotC ought to stick with "the errata is the only official source" for the purpose of tournament play and the like. Everybody else IMO should be content with what the DM says is final for his game.

Bye Skip.

Oh No! Not Andy! Almost everything I've thrown out in 3.5 are ideas he at least had a hand in.

Good thing I just don't care anymore.

Well they did consult me...but they kept saying "No you can't keep telling them to go buy "The Scarred Lands." It's not going to work."
