Why wait, when you can pre-judge before we've even seen a single episode?!

It's not just the "X-Files"-ness of the new version (big conspiracy behind it all); they had to throw in a little slice of "The Fugitive," too (he's the number one suspect in his wife's murder).

I guess I just enjoyed the "monster of the week" (i.e., stand-alone stories) and "average man against evil forces--and no one believes him" approach of the old. With this new set-up, neither one of those elements seems very likely. I liked Stuart Townsend in "Queen of the Damned" (and feel he did the best anyone could have with the crap that was "League of Extraordinarily Bad Filmmaking"). But young hottie != Carl Kolchak!

And Gabrielle Union will help. A lot. Bring it on!

No, it doesn't surprise me.

It just saddens me. Not that we have young hotties in every show. That every single lead has to be a young hottie.

I was raised on 70s television--where leading roles went to actors like Carol O'Connor ("All in the Family") and Jack Klugman ("The Odd Couple" & "Quince, M.E.") and Telly Savalas ("Kojak"--although I was never really into that show).

I blame Aaron Spelling. Starting with "The Mod Squad" he ruined television by making every lead a hottie.

I still feel that a better lead actor for the series would have been Ed Neil. The father from, "Married... With Children".

But William Shatner isn't a young hottie and neither is James Spader and they're the leads for Boston Legal and neither are young hotties. Although James is a former young hottie.
