Very cool. Looks like the monthly rate is currently $29.95 US. A bit more pleasing to the palette. (of course, I use m-w.com for all my online word needs)

Do you mean "palate"? One's the sense of taste, the other is the range of colors used in a particular painting or by a particular artist. Which we'd know if we had subscriptions to the OED!

Moral - err, excuse me, morale of story? Using homonyms in a thread about dictionaries is a dangerous mistake.

I can get lost in the OED for an hour, easily.

I really wanted to get access to the OED online. But for that price, I'd rather just purchase the compact version. Sure, it's hard on the eyes, but a year's worth of subscription pays for the thing. Maybe they offer a lot more in the online version, but really, what else could they possibly put in it!
