The Perfect Cookie

I believe the perfect cookie is the sugar cookie. It must be slightly smooshy in the center and dusted lightly with the large-crystal sugar. Mmmm! Nothing better!

The perfect cookie is a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie with chopped pecans. It is two and a half inches in diameter and almost (but not quite) falls apart when it is grabbed. Its batter was left in the freezer overnight before it cooked to its current light golden brown shade. And it currently resides somewhere in the California's Bay Area.

I am pretty much in agreement here. Nuts are fine. Raisins OK in oatmeal cookies

Oh no...the best cookie is the pillsbury chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven, baked so that it has a slight, light crisp, but melts in your mouth.

I am pretty much in agreement here. Nuts are fine. Raisins OK in oatmeal cookies

Raisins are an abomination in any form, but tainting any otherwise perfect oatmeal cookie with them is a crime agains nature.

Whenever she got in a baking mood, my mom used to send 'care packages' full of cookies to me at the office. Without fail, there was a bag of oatmeal raisin. One time I started to give her crap about not remembering my raisin vendetta, and she replied 'Oh, I know you hate them. I figured if I made a batch with raisins you'd have to share with the rest of the people in the office.'

Sometimes, Mom is too damn clever for her own good.
