The Perfect Cookie

I probably prefer freshly-baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies over all others. However, I feel we're far too close to Christmas not to promote my second-favourite cookie: the shortbread cookie, which should favour the butter flavour over sugar.

I have to ask though, your majesty, why all the food threads in the off-topic forum? You seem to be thinking an alarming amount not just about food but about highly fattening food. What gives?

Chocolate Chip Cookies....with milk. My son and husband hover around the kitchen entrance just waiting for them to come out of the oven. All I need do is turn my back for a second and the dozen is down to six. They never last long in my home.

My family, on the other hand, mobs me every year for my Russian Teacakes. I've got a batch just waiting to be baked at home.

I am the Cookie Queen! I can bake anything!! :D

My mom was a baker for J.M. Smucker Co. She invented what is now known in local circles as "the cookie on a stick". It is like a regular cookie, only on a stick. This simple innovation in cookie technology allows the eater to dunk the cookie into a glass of milk without getting ones fingers wet. My mother is a genius.

Also, any cookie less than the size of a baby's head is not worth eating.

I'm a good midwestern girl! I *love* all things rich and delicious. Mmm!

But - really - I just love food a lot... I don't eat *that* much fattening food - but I do have a great appreciation for it. :) Additionally - I believe that I'd rather be not-thin (because I'm far from chubby) and happy than thin and hungry.

My personal favorites are Oatmeal Scotchies. Oatmeal cookie with butterscotch chips, and just a touch of orange extract in the mix. Wonderful.

In the girl scout cookie department, Somoas are fantastic.

My sister has a special oatmeal cookie recipe. It's essentially like the normal oatmeal cookie only instead of raisins, she adds dried cherries, dark chocolate chips or chunks and chopped pecans and then adds coco powder to the mix making it a chocolate oatmeal cookie. Heaven......

Must be Homemade:

1. Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Chips

but a close second:

Oatmeal Cookies from the recipie on the Quaker Oats Tube

And I have never understood this seemingly univeral abberation of putting perfectily good cookies in ....ehw....milk. I think it is part of some succesfully fiendish plot contrived by the Dairy Council and the Demon God of Lactose that they serve.
