The Kickstarter project for the Pioneer RPG is now live!

Set 10–20 years from today's world, the Pioneer tabletop RPG provides players with a grounded framework to explore the inner solar system.

You will be the first to build a Moon base, the first to mine an asteroid, and the first to walk on the surface of Mars. Closer to Earth, you will conduct rescues in Low Earth Orbit, launch or repair important satellites, and conduct scientific experiments that boost our understanding of the universe.

If you are an avid fan of films and TV like Gravity, The Martian, or For All Mankind, this is the RPG for you!

You can download the 90-page Pioneer Preview for free on the Kickstarter page so you can create your own Pioneers and play through the included Rescue in Low Earth Orbit mission! You can also see Actual Play clips down by our friends at 12 Sided Studios to give you a feel for what the game can be like.

This looks like a great game, but unfortunately it came at a terrible time for my annual RPG budget. I am definitely interested because this game SCREAMS my partner's interests. I will show them, but I may have to wait until later, possibly as a late pledge.

After its first week, the new Pioneer RPG is fully funded and stretch goal missions are falling into the laps of Referees looking to take their players into orbit!

So far, as well as all the core books, backers will be getting several missions, including the Project Hecate trilogy which gets the players scouting the Moon for a good site and then building the very first permanent Lunar base. Just in time for Ares Ascendant, a full campaign that will put your Pioneers in a position to be the first to walk on the surface of Mars...

Glad to see that this campaign does so well. I'll also have to pass initially due to budgeting reasons, but I like that there was an update dedicated entirely to different propulsion systems (Update #5 for those who haven't seen it yet). It does seem like this might be a great game for science-minded people
