The Player/GM relationship.

It's only an issue if you treat her more/less favorably than other players. Treat her like a player while at the table, hit on her in your free time before/after the game.

I agree. You should obviously be fair and even-handed to the other players as well as to her - although you also need to avoid treating her PC more harshly than the others out of an exaggerated desire to avoid favouritism; something I may have been guilty of when GMing for my wife.
If you date and then split up she may leave your group. That's not a good reason to avoid dating her, though. The species does need propagating, after all. :D

It ok, and even great to find girlfiend from game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't as in usual situations.

It doesn't compare to work, but relationship in hobby. Which is usual how to to people meet.

If she is player in game, try to run game equally. Not every dating players want different things than other players in game, and would just become annoying if someone expect that.

If you seriously start to date and she wants more attention in game and favours consider running her solo-games as extra. Helped my two friends out of favourism recently.

Give it a try, and as with normally in relationships, it might become something special or not.

Go for the girl... and pass off the reins of DMship to somebody else (not her) for awhile. You can probably just say "I need a break from DMing"... or "I want play for awhile".

It's a game. The way I see it, if anyone has a problem with the DM and one or more of the players being involved, they're taking it too seriously.

"I need to be a playa for a while" is also acceptable, considering the circumstances.

My wife plays in my Deadlands game. We don't have any issues with the other players.

If, however, your players look askance at you, there is another solution - institute a "the GM can be bribed!" policy. If they think you're giving special treatment to your girlfriend, fine, give them access to special treatment too, so it is fair.

Get your minds out of the gutter! I'm talking about bribes in the forms of your favorite beer and munchies and such.

I instituted a similar policy in college. I never had to buy my own snacks and soda as GM! :)
