Introduction
The Poison Course is a self-contained TTRPG episode set in a city not too unlike the New Orleans of the 1790s. Player characters are household staff in the manor of a businessman of minor prominence. An unexpected soiree draws a small group of socialites, but danger is afoot. A Villain is in attendance, and it's up to the PCs to foil their nefarious scheme. It's like a game of Clue, but with better dice.
The Game
The Poison Course is a one-shot episode for three to five players, who will be assuming the roles of "ordinary" folks (i.e. Zero-level characters). Perfect for beginners, it features:- A familiar, clue-hunting premise
- Roleplay on equal terms with combat
- Quick character creation (4 abilities + Background)
- "Just-enough" d20 mechanics
- Frenetic play courtesy of a real-time "Chore Die" mechanic
One-shot, Many Plays

- Make a different guest the Villain (the release will include Motive, Method, and Clues for three at launch).
- Change the weapon of choice! This book focuses on the titular poison, but rumor has it that knives, ropes, and candlesticks also make excellent tools for murder.
