I am *SO* going to list FDG tile sets on Ebay tonight...

I researched the patent data base. They do not own the idea/concept. The closest was some type of construction tile company. I also searched the Trademark and copyright data bases, and their name is not registered either.
There is no copyright database for names, and copyright isn't for names. You automatically own a copyright once you publish something.
They do own the trademark, just not a federally registered one. But, that does not mean they have no trademark.
Regardless, it would be darn rude to do it without permission of the inventor. They made a great product. If they do not make it or cannot make it anymore, perhaps they would be happy to let it go to someone else or accept a small percentage of the profits. But the right thing to do is to talk to them about it first.
Exactly. It's not the price that is ridiculous, it's the person willing to pay that priceAmazon marketplace often has ridiculous price tags for oop items.
Why not? You put it in there, and if anyone buys it... great. If not, you can still lower the price...
Holy crap! This is the only dungeon tiles set I bought. I bought it 3 times though. I have it here sitting in an old empty magic box. Got all 3 sets for $12 each. The price of some of the out-of-print Dungeon Tiles sets on Amazon is just ridiculous. Check this out:

$167.00!!! You must be kidding...
Tac Tiles prices make me want to hunt down the IP owners, buy the rights, and start selling new ones myself!
