The rash of Double, Tripple, and Quadrouple (sp?) posts.

These are appearing everywhere, two or three times in a row in some threads. I havn't noticed a commanality but there are far more than usual.

Could this have to do with the lack of "thread updated" e-mails?

Not sure. It does seem like too much of a coincidence for both problems to suddenly appear at the same time, but I can't think what might be causing it.

Double posts are usually caused from a slow down of the boards, and people getting impatient and hitting the post button more then once.

Indeed, I was just comming here to note it, as well. I've seen a lot more double + posts within the last 2-3 days or so.

I have done this a few times myself. I press the submit, the page doesn't resolve in less that half a minute, so I stop and resend.

Why is post submission going so slowly now?

Same here. I hit submit and it will just sit there for a minute or more. Just lurking around shows normal speed. But hit submit and you freeze.

I got one triple post from this. Now I know to wait, so I shouldn't get a multipost again. But the wait is weird and annoying.

Edit: editing has no delay.

In the vBulletin admin panel, change the value dealing with how many seconds you have to wait to post another thread or reply to 45-60 seconds or so. This will solve the problem.
