As you may well be aware, Sir. Goldwing dosen't often involve himself in the affairs of others - preferring to listen and watch - awating the day when his duties will be released from him, but this was a case that bore closer inspection... I have watched Ethera in her exploits for many years, she has proven to be of merit and caught my intrest early, along with a few, select others.
A choice such as the one made by Ethera is never done so lightly, as I know another who made the same choice in ceasing to work for the Mob. Since he was high up in the Business, like Ethera de Lioncourt, they let him go without much complaint, but they took EVERYTHING that the Mob had ever bought him execpting the clothes on his back. To this day he is still well and doing fine.
But Ethera was not so fortunate - so bound was she to her Mistress and vice-versa. The shrike came for her with a vengence, plucked her up and threw her on The Tree Of Suffering without so much as a "By your leave" and was determined to keep her there. Despite the fact that her life had done a complete turnaround for the better. One who makes the choice to step from the darkness is given the right to be free of their crimes committed in the names of those that host the dark.
Ethera is most fortunate to have made the decision, to have survived the Dread Tree..... and its keeper.
We are most fortunate to have her back with us, despite the memory loss, memories can be either replaced or made anew.
