Has anyone read the Rogues series of FR books? If so, are they any good? I've always had a soft spot for the vastly underappreciated thief and rogue in fiction.

I've read them and thought them good. I have a favorite or two among them but am uncomfortable saying which (seeing as how the authors are colleagues).
Also, at the risk of coming across as presumptuous, may I point you in the direction of my own FR novels -- Halls of Stormweather (contributor), Shadow's Witness, and the Erevis Cale trilogy (Twilight Falling and Dawn of Night, with book III to be released next year). All of them feature my signature character, Erevis Cale, an assassin/rogue, and some of the supporting characters are also rogues or at least shady.
If you're so inclined, have a look around the net, read some reviews of my work, and decide if Cale and Co. might suit your fancy.

Thanks, Berandor. I'm pleased you enjoyed Shadow's Witness. You might consider the books of the Cale trilogy. Just grab them from the library and see if they take your fancy. I suspect they will, since you enjoyed SW.

Finally, I'll second the recommendation for City of Ravens, by Rich Baker. In fact, I'd say that it is probably your best choice, Crimson, for a standalone book featuring a rogue. The protag is a rogue-sorcerer and the book has a swashbuckling, high adventure feel. It's very good.

for another series on the underappreciated rogue/thief/assassin... try the Gord series by Gary Gygax. 
also don't forget the cyric series starting with the time of troubles books.. waterdeep, tantras, and shadowdale followed by prince of lies and cyric the mad
i bought but haven't had a chance to read yet:
the crimson gold
the black bouquet
the alabaster staff
and the year of the rogue dragon series starting with the rage
the yellow silk is on my to buy list
the fr series are coming out faster than i can keep up it seems.
