So, I was just wondering if I am the only one here that doesn't bother with a DM's screen. Sure, I will make a joke here and there about what we do behind the screen:uhoh: , But how many of us actually use a screen.

Never, and I almost always roll in the open.

I also almost never fudge dice. I'm ok with a tpk if/when it happens, and I'm not committed to a predetermined outcome (or even path) for anything.

I use one, but I often don't sit behind it. I use it to hide maps, a few rolls, pictures and handouts and figures in the "on deck" circle, and surprises like that. By far, most rolls are in the open.

I use a screen, but don't sit behind it. It's off to the side, with dice, maps, notes, etc. behind it. I need room to spread my stuf out, and I couldn't contain it all behind the screen.

I am the same as jester up there. I usually roll in the open, But I almost guess on the rolls, unless it is a death blow that would end the game, then I usually grimace and make it a one. I would like to have the screen, but only as somthing that would hold the charts and tables handy. I would probably wind up laying it out flat in front of me, and cupping my hands to hid the roll. I hide my rolls as a habit now, and it can cuase a bit of a problem. Rather more when the DM asks me to tell him what the roll is.

screen+open roll

I hide some things behind it, and try to constructively use the various tables on it with variable success

Huh. I always sit behind mine. But this is a good idea. I think I'll try this next gamenight.

My DM doesn't use one. I just think it's becuase this way he can freak us out with a roll, a grimic, or an evil smile. Man, he really IS creepy.

I have in the past but I don't anymore. I have my laptop off to the side so I can see the players, and a screen makes it hard for a short guy like me to see the battlemap and my players' faces.
