The sight of a halfling monk leaping into the fray could be considered a comic one, but as Ari'mone charges, his spirit rises from the exhortations and somewhat impolite advice Frea is handing out to all those on his side, and his foot connects savagely with the back of the horror in front of Aidan, staggering it forward. (8 points) The horror's eyes blaze green, as a sheen of golden ice starts to spread from the place the monk's foot struck, the thing visibly slowing down. In the next instant, an angelic voice, singing a song of valor and glory is heard strong and clear, the evil rumble of the storm seeming to recede for a moment, as Oxana raises her voice, and hands, in song, before digging for a wand in her gear, still singing. (Need you to pick one wand that you dug out.) The horror that Ari'mone kicked hisses out, "Little boys shouldn't play where they aren't wanted." He turns and swings his blade at the hard to catch halfing, and simply ends up marking the floor with a missed swing. The horror that Larris struck whirls, almost tripping his malformed body in the process, and swings at the heavily armored man, the blade bites deep, finding a joint in the armor of the arm holding the hammer, drawing blood, the grievous wound burning with foul corruption, almost as if instantly gangrenous. (21 normal, 4 special) The last of the three horrors by the door swings his blade at the redoubtable cleric as Aidan reaches for his mace, but the blade whistles over Aidan's head as he ducks. All the horrors seem to heal somewhat from the wounds dealt them thus far. Erkenbrand and Frea again act in perfect tandem, their blades flashing, Erkenbrand's first swing slipping under the somewhat clumsy guard of the creature, slashing a line along it's leg. (8 points) His second blow is caught on the creature's blade, but Frea slashes at the thing's unguarded side, a well-aimed chop, that nonetheless seems to have no special effect (5 damage) The green balefire in the thing's eyes, seem to dim, as it says, "Bloody hell, I'm about to be killed again, and it's the wrong winged wench...curse the luck." Aidan, despite the time spent to avoid being spitted on a horror's blade, finally gets his mace unshipped, and takes a hard swing at the horror between he and Ari'mone, connecting firmly with the thing's rotten jaw, sending shards of bone and flesh flying. (12 points) The thing, already largely covered in golden, faintly glowing ice, staggers again, mumbling something unintelligible with it's mangled mouthparts. The balefire in it's eyes grows dim, as if whatever malign evil animates the malformed thing is near to fading. As Aidan steps back, pressing Toby back behind him, both the flanking horrors stab at him with eager glee...the blade on his right glancing off his armor, the one to his left slashing along his ribs...leaving a line of blood and rotting corruption. (9 slashing, 2 special)
