The Skirmisher Prc

PJ

First Post
Is anyone out there familiar with the Skirmisher Prc from AEG's Mercenaries book?
It seems so broken it makes me want to spring it on my unwitting DM. If anyone has any experience with playing this in an actual game, I'd love to hear about it.

So, since no one has played this Prc here's a gist of what I think the over powered abilities are:

1. At the 3rd lvl of this class: you get the abilitiy to make a full attack and take a move action.

2. At 4th lvl of the class: anytime you make a successful attack against a target denied their Dex mod or one that your flanking, you get an automatic critical threat.

3. At 6th lvl of the class: you gain the Blindsight ability (30 foot range).

Plus the Skirmisher gets seven other good class abilities, +1 BAB every level, a wonky save progression that starts at +1/+2/+2, good skill list and 4+Int skill points.

The only limiting factors to this class that I see are: 1) You have to take the Run feat 2) You have to be a Fighter/Rogue multi-class.

This Prc seems quite strong to me, I was just wondering if anyone out there agreed.

I don't have the Mercenaries book, but off your description, I completely agree about it being overpowered in comparison to the power level of the core books.

I'm playing a Dm...
I can't wait to unleash it on my players... :D

I can imagine their faces... tumble... full-attack (sneak) and a couple of criticals in the same round... every round!

I am playing a fighter rogue.... I am *SO* springing this on my DM... :-)

Heh, I'm going to try to get it past my DM too. The only way to know for sure if it's unbalanced is to test it out...

Did I mention that this class gets d10 HD, Fast Movement and Int bonus to AC? Heh...

Holy Cats! That is a jaw-dropping overpowered PrC! (See kitty avatar)
<----

Seriously, those beginning benefits aren't too bad, then you posted up the d10(!), Int to AC(!!) and fast movement(!?!)... no way. No friggin way. No one on these boards would post such a thing up under the House rules page (IMO at least), let alone get it published.
What's the difference between this mega PrC and taking the monk class with paladin/barbarian added on top? Having to take the run feat is a drawback as a prereq? Good skill points, the high saves and then add in Blindsight 30'... how was this ever released? Only fighter/rogues are allowed?? There are only about 84 gazillion of them out there, and all have just signed up to take this PrC from Munchkinville to pounce on their newb DM. Woe is the spineless DM... I fear for thee.

Most definitely an overpowered PrC unless there are prereqs you aren't mentioning (such as 30 ranks of tumble).

Nope, no prereqs like that, you need to be nonlawful, +5BAB, 4 feats (that most fighter/rogues would take anyway) and 4 to 6 ranks in some Rogue skills. The only wonky thing is that the PrC requires 4 ranks in intuit direction and in 3.5 the intuit direction skill was folded into survival and survival is neither a fighter or rogue class skill.
