The spirit of "Name of the Rose" lives on

There's a new movie out that some of you might not have heard of, but I recommend you go see. It's called "The Reckoning," and it is set in medieval England. Imagine the traveling band of players from Shakespeare's "Hamlet" trying to solve a murder mystery a la "The Name of the Rose."

The movie starts Paul Bettany, Willem Dafoe, Brian Cox and Vincent Cassel.

It's not a great movie, but I did find it to be interesting and entertaining. Some of you might like it, so look for it.

I've seen it. As always Paul Bettany is fantastic and the rest of the cast is pretty good too. My gf was particulary impressed by Vincent Cassel. I don't know if I'd compare it to "The Name of The Rose", though. I'd give it a 3/5.

Now that you mention the movie I'll have another look at it.

Yes, the quality of the movie is not as good as "Name of the Rose." But it is the only other medieval murder mystery involving some priests that I could think to compare it to. :)

But it's still worth seeing.
