THE STRANGE - Monte Cook & Bruce Cordell's new Kickstarter next week

Next week Monte Cook Games will be launching a new Kickstarter (just like I said they would!)

It's for a new game called THE STRANGE and uses the NUMENERA Cypher system. Graphics look spacey, and given Cordell's involvement I'm betting far realms, tentacles, and psionics.

I am interested in seeing what genre this ends up being. It has a very Twilight Zone, Cthulhu, and X-Files feel to the picture, maybe even Dark Matter. I just hope that it doesn't stretch them to thin since Numenera is still hot off the press. While will use the same engine I also hope that it is in no way compatible as far as setting. Guess we'll see next week.

Nice! I couldn't really get into Numenera's setting so I passed on that KS, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for this one.

Read some of Numenera, but didn't really get into it either. The whole technology instead of magic premise kind of bored me. I appreciated the attempt at simplified rules though, as I'm all for minimizing GM work.

Does the Num. Corebook even have an errata'ed printing yet? Can't shake how quick this feels, like they are not even waiting for the ink to dry on the Num. material before it is off to the next game.
