the TEMPS and Alignments

le Redoutable

Ich bin El Glouglou :)
TEMPS stands for
Technics ( which = Evil )
Empathy ( Goodness )
Music ( Lawfulness )
Physics ( Neutral )
Stamina ( Chaos )

so, based on Alignment Levels
say you have a majority of Technics and Music then you stand as a LE pc;
if you have the same Levels in Technics and Empathy then you are partially Neutral;
if furthermore you have the same Levels in Music and Stamina then you are of True Neutral etc

so, is Neutral the inner Understanding of Reality ( and therefore Magics as called Physics )

also, I think there are 5 Spellcasting Classes;
and there is place for NG, NE, LN, CN, and TN
TN is easy : Druid
the other Spellcasting Classes :
Bard ( for Use with Music i.e. LN ? )
Cleric
Elementalist
Illusionist

Stamina I would gladly assign to Elementalist
so, Clerics and Illusionists ...

Being a musician and having played in many bands with other "professional" musicians, I wouldn't characterize any of them (i.e., Bards) as "Lawful."

I think, in general, they're (we are) the very definition of "Chaotic." 🤟😜

Definition of technics: the study or science of an art or of arts in general, especially the mechanical or industrial arts.

How is this the definition of evil?

How is stamina chaotic? What is the connection? Are marathon runners all chaotic?

You pick such random words; I can only assume this is some kind of translation error?

to me,
Technics : the art of taking shortcuts by use of skills
when you reach a certain specialty level, either you get professorat, or you join a sect ( obscurantism )
and high levels shortcuts are perceived as cruel by the commoner
Empathy : no need to ( apparently ) redefine
Music : use of solfège
Chaos and Stamina... let's try to rename Stamina with Breathing; " Love is in the air "
no. Frankly, the TEMPS system is ( a little ) old, and
was meant to replace the nine alignments;
CG would be Sportsmen
CN were madmen ( Berserkers )
CE would be Fighters

recently I have changed my uses of the 5 spellcasting abilities...
bref :
CN are now Elementalists ( à la Dragon Ball Z ) and therefore use much of Energy ( that can easily ( perhaps too much ) relative of Breathing

where CG will use self-overriding
( well, a very low-impacting topic )

I know you're being tongue and cheek but Doesn't it depend on the musician?

I mean, Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis are both Jazz trumpeters but their styles are very different. Marsalis is very technical.

Classical Music is fairly technical but Mozart was a bit of a partier. Bach was less so.

Glen Frey of the Eagles was a super controlling businessman while Joe Walsh, their guitarist, was renown for trashing hotel rooms.

So....yeah. But maybe "music" as a theme can be categorized as inspiration or movement. Or maybe, given music follows rules, it is Lawful. IDK

I was in performing rock bands for fifteen years. The number of times all members were on time for a rehearsal is probably down around 5%. The number of times someone simply didn't show is about the same.

Of course there are responsible musicians, but from what I've seen they are the minority. Most musicians I've known and read about (100+ biographies) don't consider music a "regular job."

YMMV. 🎹

Music is a lawful harmony from which chaos is created. Music follows rules, has a mathematical flow and form that creates passion and chaos in people who try and understand it and recreate it in dance or song but lack something.

I play in a couple bands too but we all have regular jobs so it’s more of a hobby. If I were doing it as my primary means of income, I might be more dedicated. So you’re probably right about the ‘regular job’ thing. Being a professional musician requires discipline, though. At least from what I know of friends who are in performance degrees and who practice 3-5 hours per day.

I get what you’re Saying. I’m not sure the Rolling Stones were super disciplined and the life of Keith Richards is pretty colourful. I’m just saying you can’t paint them all with the same brush.
