The Ultimate "Splat" Books?

Well, the one good thing is that James Jacobs has said that if Paizo creates it, they will support it. The good thing about this is, they can't get too bloated or they will not be able to fully support their own RPG.

I have a feeling that after these two (UM & UC) that the focus will shift to Epic and (possibly) Psionics, and that will conclude the rules bloat. (At least, that's what I hope.)

they have said their product line is set til the end of 2012. it's unlikely any of what you suggested will even be dis used. they have also said while they are interested boyhood pic and psionics are a long ways off. for epic it's pretty clear only a tiny portion of the player base is interested in epic and this may make supporting it hard. they ha e said they don't want to repeat wotc habit of making something then never mentioning it again in another book.

Well, looking at the playtest for Gunslinger, Ninja, and the Samurai...it varies. The Gunslinger is fairly original. The Ninja does look like half-monk, half rogue. I kinda wish that more of the Ninja's tricks relied on ki, amd while it is half-rogue, I think it's far enough away to be it's own class. Hopefully, the non-ki tricks will be open to the rogue. The samurai...okay, the samurai is an alternate build of the cavalier.

the ninja mostly seems ton play like a rogue with free invisibility. I suspect in the end the gunslinger will be it's own class but well see what the updates for round 2 show.

I hope you're right - particularly as I have a mild interest in Epic and no interest in psionics . . .

Oh, I agree.

Psionics doesn't do much for me either (although some of the folks I've gamed with love Psionics, so for their sake, I hope it happens one day).

I hope the Pathfinder epic rules are better than the 3.5 epic rules, although I used (and would use again) the 3.5 epic rules with Pathfinder if need be.
